The day that I have been not looking forward to has finally arrived.
First I would like to say, I was raised as a Tennessee fan. My dad's family was from Athens, TN and he taught me to follow the Vols since i was extremely little. This has proved difficult especially living in GA. Growing up a UT fan in a town less than an hour away from Athens, GA in a high school that had like four Tennessee fans for me to talk UT football with, I have heard and seen my fair share of anti-UT remarks and jokes and it has giving quite a thick skin to the shots the GA fans take.
Now the had part, I am a student at UGA (thanks HOPE) and a member of the Redcoat Band. So far this season, I have been able to pass off rooting for UGA in their games and tape and watch the UT games (even as hard as that has been sometimes). Even as much as I grew up loathing UGA I have accepted the fact that it is my school and I do cheer for them occasionally. But tomorrow shall be my undoing, the ability to root and cheer for UT while sitting in tight quarters with 400+ die hard UGA fans holding hard and heavy instruments.
So wish me luck VolNation, that i can support my team while supporting my school. Maybe I can slip on my orange UT shorts under my uniform.
Hopefully we can pull the upset which just make my day so much better, and give me bragging rights for another year.
