The stars really aligned for UT to win the SEC this year. Florida had to play the two best teams in the West and lost to both of them. Tebow then got hurt and lost to UGA. Felix Jones got hurt against us. Georgia once again waited until November to play offense.

Finally, everyone on LSU's team was freaking injured. They still beat us. If the staff couldn't win it this year, they'll never do it again. The SEC has just outgrown our staff. Playing Meyer, Saban, Spurrier, and Richt every year is just not going to end well for our staff.

I guess I shouldn't be surprised that a team that needed tremendous luck to beat the likes of Vanderbilt, Kentucky, and South Carolina couldn't take down LSU.

I look forward to losing five games next year and finishing fourth in the East.

Disappointed. I'm so disappointed.

Our defense played their rears off today. They bent...but they didn't break.

We had LSU exactly where we wanted them.....until...well, you know the story. I'm not sure what happened to Ainge...

but we had that LSU offense in disarray....and all we had to do was play ball control....I don't think they could have scored on us. Oh well.....it was a fun year.

I'm just so disappointed.

Fulmer was good (taken care of by the AD) before he even stepped foot in Atlanta.

Matter of fact, Hamilton carried Fulmer off the field last week in Lexington.

Nine years and nothing to show for it. Expectations are so low that simply getting to Atlanta is reason to celebrate.

I do think Kentucky will slide back down to their perennial battle with Vandy for last place in the East, and I'm not sold on the Gamecocks as an SEC contender so playing for 3rd is probably more likely.

Sad that Houston Nutt cares more about the fans at Arky than Phil does about Tennesseans. So long as he's getting his $2million+ a year he will never leave. Wait a week or two until the shock of this loss has worn off a bit and Hambone will probably slide Phil a 1-2 extension along with a $300,000-$400,000 per year raise.

Absolutely correct.... let's get one thing straight, I've been hard on CPF and his staff all year long, but THEY did not lose this game. Hell, even the defense did what they are supposed to. Three, count 'em three, three and outs in the first half from our offense, and that is unacceptable. then, not oe, but TWO interceptins from a SENIOR quarterback with no pressure. Unbelievable! This was a well coached game and we had every chance to win... :banghead2:

I don't think Crompton has had enough playing time to make a judgment like that. I know in his first start last year against this same LSU team, the guy showed some signs of greatness....2 perfect downfield TD passes to Meachem. And that is a game that UT won, if not for a bad call on the field ruling Jamarcus Russell "down" when the replay clearly showed he fumbled and UT recovered. They went on to score the game winning TD that drive.

At least Crompton CAN move around some, and throw the ball further than 5 yards with some accuracy. And tonight cannot be blamed on CPF either. About the only blunder he made was going for it on 4th and 4, when we should have kicked the field goal. Other than that, Ainge single-handedly lost this game for us, because LSU's offense was NOT going to win it for them. So, Ainge did it for them.

I think he will be fine, and want him to win the starting job, but did anyone not think we would run on that play?

Is Fulmer not responsible for making our offense play well? Is Fulmer not a former offensive coordinator? Did our offense play well? Bullcrap this game isn't on Phil's shoulders. He never should have brought Cutcliffe back.

Actually, my passing reference to Fulmer was simply to say that it wasn't his play calling that lost us this game over-all, and it isn't Fulmer who is out there making the plays. I wasn't saying he is brilliant.....just that he didn't lose this game. Ainge is a senior QB and should never have made either of those passes. They couldn't have come at a worse time. The last one was just after a huge gain by Foster to get us in a position to tie the game, and then Ainge struck again.

My original point was about your saying that our offense will be terrible next year, and I was simply pointing out that Crompton has had very little chance, and what chance he has had, he has shown signs of greatness. I agree fully with all who say Crompton should start the bowl game, and I think your remarks were somewhat hard on him. We ALL know that our coaches have a tendency to let good talent sit on the bench. Just look at Rogan. After seeing him, I was thinking...."Lamarcus Who?"

Just saying, I think Crompton will do some good things next year. That's all.
