It’s hard to fathom why all of our QBs look so unprepared compared to all these new starters on other teams like KY and SC.

The same thought has occurred to me very recently, as in yesterday while watching our backups.

To say the Chaney can't coach because our backup QB's are not any better than they are is crazy. You can coach a kid, you can try and teach him the things he needs to know, you can explain things to him but you can't think for him. If they are not making the right reads when they are going over game film, they are not going to play in a close game. End of story.
Again for the 500th time. If you think you know more about football than the coaches at UT, go to the University and meet with Phil. You guy's crack me up. You have no idea what is going on behind the scenes, or at the practices or during film study. Let the coaches do their jobs. The ONLY reason JG is still the starting QB is because NO ONE on the team has beaten him out of the job. Get over it!!!!! Go Vols

I don’t think anyone is blaming Chaney. I think think it’s just too many voices. 3 guys telling the QB what to do.

I think we have a many in our fan base that think they have knowledge of the inner workings of the Tennessee coaching staff.

Some do, but only one or two of the posters.

I’m starting to think Weinke might be a liability. Up until today, JG had seemingly regressed, and the other guys today looked terrible. Is it possible we have too many coaches involved with the QB’s and are throwing too much of the new system onto them too quickly?

It’s not underprepared. They are just not that good. JG never developed after getting blown up the last 2 years. The other 2 QBs were 3 star guys.
