Weinke

I’m starting to think Weinke might be a liability. Up until today, JG had seemingly regressed, and the other guys today looked terrible. Is it possible we have too many coaches involved with the QB’s and are throwing too much of the new system onto them too quickly?
Too much, too quickly? This is his 3rd of college football, the guy just doesn't comprehend the game at this level. In high school he made it on athletic ability, now the game has moved way beyond his abilities because he lacks the mental make up. Look at the Sawyer kid for UK right now, came from Troy and is running a new system like he's been in it for years. Some guys get it and some guys don't. Crompton was a product of bad leadership, under Cutcliffe the small sample size we saw was great, under Clawson he was awful and under Chaney he thrived. I would compare JG to Matt Simms, both had athletic ability but neither have the mental capacity to play college football.

After watching two weeks of football and seeing freshman quarterbacks across the country look better than our 4th year junior. That's not coaching that's talent.

It couldn't possibly be an offense learning their fourth offensive scheme in four years or anything like that.

That’s a byproduct, but shouldn’t lead to regression.
Ok, I will give you a two game regression. The offense seemed a bit better and better reads were made. It was a ridiculously easy opponent, but the throws were crisp outside of the first bad decision. He was going to Callaway no matter what on that play.

How good of a coaching staff we have does not matter if they are coaching guys with less talent. Maybe it is not the coaches issue, maybe it lies with the people being coached?

JG has had 3 years to learn how to get rid of the ball quicker, he still cant do it. That alone should tell you something about his ability to learn.

These coaches are intelligent and can coach, the people being coached must be intelligent and coachable for this to work out.
There you go being reasonable and rational again. You can't make a race horse out of a mule and certainly not over night.

Just sayin, Kentuckys QB is a Jr transfer from Troy. He's been playing college ball for a while. That being said....I hate to say this but he looks better than JG.

Okay maybe not better. But as good
He looks a lot better than JG and the guy plays with heart. He gave his all and ran the guy down from behind on the interception. I would take him in a heart beat over JG.

I think we have a many in our fan base that think they have knowledge of the inner workings of the Tennessee coaching staff.

He was likely told to throw it deep on that play and the DB covered it very well. Definitely could have been a better pass tho. Poor playcall regardless imo

I'm losing more confidence in this Coaching squad than I am in the players.......They tried running Brian most of the time.....see what he could do...lol lol satisfy the fans.... I'm surprised they even knew the kids name.....CAN ANYONE ON THIS COACHING STAFF ACTUALLY COACH A QUARTERBACK........THEY ARE LETTING THE TEAM DOWN BIGTIME......DON'T EVEN HAVE A BACKUP ANYWHERE NEAR READY TO GO AND HOLLER "NEXT MAN UP'''
I just didn't like what the coached did at all today.......No wonder they don't want to let a backup play......It will show its not the kid its the COACHING...NO ONE ON THAT COACHING STAFF CAN COACH AND IMPROVE A QB'S PLAY.....
Maybe......it’s not the coaches fault. Maybe the players (QBs) are not any good.

Going deep to one of our best deep threats to sty the time on the first play from scrimmage? If he had run it off tackle, everyone would have said the offense was to predictable.

I’d prefer an x post or slant. Maybe even a play action screen.
