Micah Abernathy and Trevon Flowers were both getting work for the second straight day.

there was plenty of work for defensive linemen John Mincey and Emmitt Gooden and Tennessee continues to try and build depth there.

On the offensive side, the offensive line was working how they started last week with Drew Richmond and Tatum at the tackles, Ryan Johnson at center, Neihaus and Jamir Johnson at the guard spots.

In terms of the passing game, there was plenty of work on the vertical game. Kentucky hasn't given up many explosive plays this year. Obviously Tennessee has had some success stretching the field and that will be a key component to the match up on Saturday.

Wide receiver Jauan Jennings had his ankle noticeably taped, but was going through routes normally and was hollering as the Vols transitioned into their team periods, so he seems fine and good to go for Saturday.

Running back Ty Chandler also was going through reps normally. The Vols are at a full complement with Chandler, Tim Jordan, Jeremy Banks, Madre London and Carlin Fils-aime all getting work. It'll be interesting to see how much Fils-aime is part of the game plan on Saturday.

Tennessee coach Jeremy Pruitt spent the first part of practice with the running backs as they went through drills with the quarterbacks, and then he ran over to the defensive field to help the defensive backs go through their looks.

Brian Niedermeyer continues to work his tight ends hard and was particularly loud in coaching up Dominick Wood-Anderson and others in run-blocking drills. The tight ends haven't been great in that department this season

Exactly. It's not that these fellas aren't all that talented. Although they're not as good as at least half the O-linemen in the SEC, they're potentially as good as the rest...just not on the same page most of the time. Maybe-just-maybe they'll get it together come Saturday.

BTW. Thanks from me too, Fingers.

@Fingers

of our current dl, who do you think will remain on the team next year and get significant playing time?
All who don't graduate.
A) The Vols can't afford to cut any DL because we lose 3 starters.
B) The ones coming back, aside from Butler and Bennett, were recruited by this staff in the 2018 class.
C) If anyone moves on, it would likely be Bennett, if he is even considered a DLman. But Butler will be among the most experienced returnees.

Gooden is likely the starter at Nose next year. After that, Mincey is probably the best bet to start of the returnees, followed by Emerson/Butler. But Savion Williams and Darel Middleton will likely take one or both of the two spots flanking Gooden. My guess for next year's starting line is Middleton, Gooden and Mincey/Williams. Depth will be provided by whoever doesn't start between Mincey or Williams, Butler, and possibly a freshman like Eboigbe or Norton if we can flip one of them.

I'm not counting the JACK position as DL for the purposes of this post.

At some point in time our OL should figure out who to block and when . . . Please let it be Saturday!!

Thanks Fingers . . . GBO

Knowing how and when isn’t enough. They need to actually do it. Last week, it appeared many knew who and when and then chose not to block anyone.

Tim Richmond died in the 1990's. Good race car driver tho.

Met him at Indy in the pits during time trials when I was a kid. There was a documentary on him, might have been a 30 for 30, that was really good.

Gooden, Emerson, Mincey. We have a few DL recruits that are 320+ (don't know how much of that is good weight though or if EE).

I read today where Petrino has over 20 requests for transfer. Maybe they have a few OL/DL that are above average and worth taking in (only immediate transfers though, no one-year waits).

I have his autograph on my program from the 1983 Valleydale 500 at Bristol. I thought he died in the 90's, looked it up and it was '89.

The bright side is that we don't have (m)any good enough to leave early for the draft. On the down side...
