Yep, they're a few years ahead right now. I hate to say it but they look like the best team in the SEC right now. They have more depth and are just as good or better on both sides of the ball than last year.we will lose to bama because they throw the ball better than we do--everybody does--even with a young, inexperienced QB. Even with a good performance from our defense, bama is likely to score 20 points or more, which is probably more than we'll put up. It's hard to beat decent or better teams with an anemic offense.
Just like we beat UCLA at home? Please, we just lost for the fifth straight time to a VERY overrated Florida. We lost because our so-called great coaching staff played to keep it "respectible" rather than playing to win.
But, keep sipping the Kiffin Koolaid. At least it puts you in a better mood after going 1-2 than those of us who've abstained from the bitter-almond-flavored drink.
Bleck!
First of all, congrats to the Vols on a helluva game yesterday. I thought Florida would blow UT out, and like most of the country, I was wrong. (One instance where I'm happy to be wrong. I'm sick of hearing how great Tebow and company are.) Your D exposed a lot of weaknesses in Florida, and you guys have what may be the best defensive coordinator in the country. Monte Kiffin's defensive schemes reminds me of Bill Oliver's defensive style in Alabama's 1992 national championship team.
But... given the name of this thread... you guys better find someone to throw the football. You can't beat a great defense, which Bama has, with your QB unless he improves very fast. And Bama's QB is turning out to be one of the best in the SEC. He's light years more comfortable in the pocket than John Parker Wilson was the last two years. Bama played 16 true freshmen at various times last year (and many started). The team has more depth than any Bama team in recent memory.
Still, I'm not predicting anything, not after claiming Florida would blow you out. You've got a top notch coaching staff, and a tough defense. We'll see you in Tuscaloosa in October!
After you figure in Upchurch and and Grant, you have to give Bama the edge at running back. Thier qb is light years ahead of Pornstache... same for the WR position.
Yes, he really lit up North Texas State today and Florida International the week before. Va. Tech's defense ain't all that either.
I'm not saying the guy is bad, just that he hasn't really proven himself against better competition. I think Bama will be the team to beat in the SEC this year. May be another SEC championship repeat from last year.
I would normally call you a name, but that isnt the way to promote my point,so i will just say your point is idiotic and Tennessee will run and throw at will on SpurrierWhat passing attack? They didnt throw the ball down field and they still beat you. UCLA beat you through the air. Spurrier certainly is capable.
Thru 3 games, Bama is the the team to beat in the SEC.
