We will BEAT BAMA

Look at your opponent ysterday. That is like us getting excited over WKU. I don't think Bama wins the west.

I didn't say Bama would win the West, I asked in what way is UF's offense superior to Bama's right now. Have you actually watched us play a game, or do you just look at the final score?

we will lose to bama because they throw the ball better than we do--everybody does--even with a young, inexperienced QB. Even with a good performance from our defense, bama is likely to score 20 points or more, which is probably more than we'll put up. It's hard to beat decent or better teams with an anemic offense.

Yep, they're a few years ahead right now. I hate to say it but they look like the best team in the SEC right now. They have more depth and are just as good or better on both sides of the ball than last year.

Just like we beat UCLA at home? Please, we just lost for the fifth straight time to a VERY overrated Florida. We lost because our so-called great coaching staff played to keep it "respectible" rather than playing to win.

But, keep sipping the Kiffin Koolaid. At least it puts you in a better mood after going 1-2 than those of us who've abstained from the bitter-almond-flavored drink.

Bleck!

You run your mouth kinda Reckless don't ya Johnny....

Agreed, we're not at par with Alabama at this point. They're RBs match ours and their QB and WR are better.

After you figure in Upchurch and and Grant, you have to give Bama the edge at running back. Thier qb is light years ahead of Pornstache... same for the WR position.

First of all, congrats to the Vols on a helluva game yesterday. I thought Florida would blow UT out, and like most of the country, I was wrong. (One instance where I'm happy to be wrong. I'm sick of hearing how great Tebow and company are.) Your D exposed a lot of weaknesses in Florida, and you guys have what may be the best defensive coordinator in the country. Monte Kiffin's defensive schemes reminds me of Bill Oliver's defensive style in Alabama's 1992 national championship team.

But... given the name of this thread... you guys better find someone to throw the football. You can't beat a great defense, which Bama has, with your QB unless he improves very fast. And Bama's QB is turning out to be one of the best in the SEC. He's light years more comfortable in the pocket than John Parker Wilson was the last two years. Bama played 16 true freshmen at various times last year (and many started). The team has more depth than any Bama team in recent memory.

Still, I'm not predicting anything, not after claiming Florida would blow you out. You've got a top notch coaching staff, and a tough defense. We'll see you in Tuscaloosa in October!

Your post is fair and accurate for the most part. However, if you would have read the entire thread you would see that most of us concur with your observation. Bama is looking good for the most part. With that being said, I look forward to the match up with your team.

Let's win the next three, which they will be tough enough. AU and Georgia look very good on offense now. Granted we have a great defense, but we have got to score some points. Alabama is tough, I mean they are going to be very tough. The recruits for Saban are just now filtering the program. Best to hope for the Vols to somehow win the next three over two good offenses and hopefully Bama will be undefeated and we can make some plays on D. They will run it right at us.

I disagree, UT has the edge at running back. And another IMO, Mcelboy hasnt proved anything yet, lackluster performance against VT - their only competition thus far

Yes, he really lit up North Texas State today and Florida International the week before. Va. Tech's defense ain't all that either.

I'm not saying the guy is bad, just that he hasn't really proven himself against better competition. I think Bama will be the team to beat in the SEC this year. May be another SEC championship repeat from last year.

VT is a proven top 15 team.

You think pornstache is better?...

I don't want to be in the odd position of defending bama but... uh, whatever you say chief.

You might want to disappear. Given the fact we shut down Tebow and the UF passing attack, Garcia and crew might as well not show up.

What passing attack? They didnt throw the ball down field and they still beat you. UCLA beat you through the air. Spurrier certainly is capable.

I would normally call you a name, but that isnt the way to promote my point,so i will just say your point is idiotic and Tennessee will run and throw at will on Spurrier

Given that UF is the defending NC and undefeated so far this season, I would beg to differ. But I do understand what you mean. UF might not win the East this year unless they have some players to step up. They were in a similar situation 2 years ago when TT won the Heisman but they dropped a few games along the way. Given the record and showing of teams in the West right now, I'd say it's the stronger division this year and the team that goes to the SECCG from our division will be very good and very tested. I thought LSU looked pretty average vs Washington in the first game, but it turns out that UW has a very good team this year. Amazing turnaround from the 0-12 season of last year.

Based on what I've seen so far (and I haven't seen UK and Vandy play yet), the only other team in the East that I believe will beat UT this year is Georgia. While you can stop their run, their passing attack is better than what they had last year. I don't think you'll match up well with them. For that matter, (and this is certainly going against the grain), I don't believe UF will match up well enough to beat them either.

1 dimensional offense vs. Nick Saban is bad. Bama might be able to win this game with a single field goal.
