We'd have a better chance if kiffin would start one of the cheerleaders at QB... at least it would be exciting... what are they gonna do next year? start from scratch? why not start a freshman this year and let him learn... they're not gonn beat anyone anyway with jonnyboy back there!
After the game, Jonathan Crompton in his remarks in the locker room said "this is why we come to Tennessee". And I wonder WHY we seem to have such fool fans coming out of the woodwork and acting as such idiots on a 22 year old who has had so many offensive coordinators that he can hardly blink at before he has to learn another scheme. I am VERY proud of MY team and MY coaches. "If you build it, they will come." Honey, they will build it and we will have so many young guys wanting to come here that we will have to "cull" the kids. They will be paying their own way to college to walk-on for TENNESSEE. Let's give OUR CLK and OUR assistant coaches "kudos" for a great game. 30 point spread - no way - Tennessee is coming back and I for one will be there when it happens . I have been one of the "Silent Majority" and have ALWAYS been there because I LOVE THE VOLS!!!
fool fans !!!!! you joined 3 years ago and have posted 2 times and call yourself a fan? if you're satisfied with one QB turning the ball over 6 times in 2 games maybe you should be a vandy fan? at least they're okay with being losers! IDIOT !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
at least i know where i live... do you even realize that knoxville and memphis are 400 miles apart? dumbass! :shaking2:
You missed my point.
I was attacking the fact that from the beginning of the game, he wasn't allowed to throw the ball.
The first series had 15 plays, but only 1 pass. Sure, the run was working, but they still need to get the vertical game going.
If you don't get a passing game going at the beginning, it'll be tough to get it going later on.
Let's think for just a moment here.
We need to get the vertical ball going. Everyone knows it.
Yet we don't call the plays.
In other words Crompton isn't "allowed to throw the ball" as you said.
Now... it isn't like we don't have those plays. We have them. Coach knows that JC can't throw them.
You can tout the statistics about how many completed versus incomplete passes he had... but they were all screens.
They were screens and dumpoffs for a reason. Because JC cannot throw down the field.
Stephens is not near as bad as you are insinuating. You're picking on two quarters in Wyoming. I could just as easily look at 4 consecutive turnovers in the UCLA game.
Also don't forget that CLK said the competition was really close during both camps. I'm guessing if Stephens doesn't break his wrist in spring camp that he is our starter.
JC just doesn't have it. We all know. I want him to succeed. But I don't see it. CLK doesn't see it. We are a one dimensional offense because of him.
Yes, I would agree he is the worst QB in UT history. But seriously, he did better today than I expected. Lane's just gotta work with what he's got. If we had even an average QB, we would have won.
True.
But UCLA is UCLA. Wyoming is Wyoming.
