We Stomp Georgia - Book It

Not to be Debbie Downer, but if Reggie Ragland hadn't been staring off into space while Bama was up by 5 TDs, Chubb would have run for a whopping 3.3 yards per carry.

Actually, just watched the play again and Ragland being on the outside was supposed to rotate inside but trusted the middle guy had that blocked up and was ready to see Chubb bounce outside and take him out there.

All of which happened against the first teamers too

Ragland admitted after the game that he messed up on the play. The big run was on him.

Point being: Chubb was completely stifled by Bama.

They have a young team with very little talent in OL and are in Year 0 after a bad 3 year stint.

How are they winning? I don't get it. Their reality are our excuses.

SOMEBODY lit a fire under them as Ole Miss didn't know what hit 'em. Their defensive front and some secondary players will be playin' on Sunday, as they say. I don't know who their DC is, but, that intensity is contagious and they've got it going on right now. Sometimes burning desire makes up for less talent. Having said that, there was no excuse for us to have lost that game that day. I'm still biting nails in two....

Arkansas was a hangover. A wake up call.

We stomp Georgia this Saturday. Everyone finds that chip they lost when everyone told them how good they were. They forgot they have to earn it.

Pour yourself a Bourbon on Saturday and toast our teams new identity when the clock hits 00:00. I'll be singing Rocky Top with the band

I will be really worried about it lying on the beach with a Margarita :eek:lol::eek:lol::eek:lol:

Not that I wouldn't love to see that, but so far what the team has shown on the field gives your prediction zero validity.

So far, the Vols have blown leads against three power 5 teams, and our wins are against a decent MAC team and a FCS chump. And from what I have seen, Georgia would be 5-0 against those same opponents. Hell, the Vols SHOULD be 5-0 right now. That is what hurts.

Can it happen? You bet it can. They have the talent, but they have to make the plays when it counts. If the solution to that is hypnosis, tying one shoe in a double knot, increased sleep studies, or every coach and player shaving their heads this week, it is time to make it happen. I hate Georgia.

I wish I had your confidence. I really do. At this point, the Vols have something to prove to those who support them. If they start strong (which isn't the problem) and finish stronger (which has been), I might even help you sing Rocky Top. However, I will not WOO.

That's assuming you take out one play, but fact is, you can't and well, MOST big runs are a product of one guy being out of place. But you can tell from the tape, no matter what the kid said, he wanted Chubb to bounce outside bad. He wanted to lay a hit on him like he did Mitchell earlier (that one was painful to watch) .. your team played a great game .. congrats to ya.

What there for them to prove against Tennessee? Not much.

What's there for Tennessee to prove?
Everything.

What's to prove against Tennessee?? They have to win the game, if for nothing else, to keep from being embarrassed two weeks in a row and having a shot at the SEC East. Good Lord....

We've always have GA's number. If there was a team that we upset, it would be GA. Not that I would put money on it, but UT has done it before. GA fans know it.

"We've always have (had) Georgia's number"??? Are you kidding me? How long have you followed the UT/Georgia rivalry, my friend?

Painful to watch is right, TDawg. Congrats to YOU for showing such good, old-school sportsmanship, my friend. Some should take note. This is how it's done with class....

We couldn't pass on Arkansas.
We won't pass on Georgia.
It won't be easy for Hurd given its one of the best front 7s in the league.
Georgia has the best and most experienced line in the league they will run it down our throats.
Depth will be an issue again.

We lose going O for October.

I think we can actually win this game. If we can get up @ 8 TDs in the 1st half, then play conservative till the end, we can upset them. Looking at something like 59-56 if we can hold em' off.

So the same motivation as they have against Kentucky. My point exactly. We have the world to play for and their motivation is just another day

I'll have what your having! I think we will play them well (we always do) and we will be in a position to win the game, but seriously I doubt we will stomp them.
