Nega-Vols on parade in this thread. What he said is a fact. He is trying to build depth. The 2018 commits are going to be an awesome addition to the Vols. Hope they don't read threads like this or smarter than the posters on this thread and want to sign up and help build the UT wall..."brick by brick". LOL!

He threw it out on 104.5 in Nashville while talking about FL week. The "reporters" offered back that it was his third trip as a way out but he doubled down and quoted it again. If you listen to the whole interview he was positive and I did not take it as making excuses but, like the trashcan, some things are best left in the locker room.

I still support Butch but he does have his hang ups and focuses on the wrong things at times.
The good side of his repetition is the team seems to be sold on several important messages:

Never give up
Consistent effort
Play through the whistle

My biggest concern in all of this, is that they all ride together, or at least 1 of those 27 ride with the ones that don't know the way. Geez!

They're just words. All I care about are on field results.

Butch can tell the media that he had Mexican for dinner and I wouldn't care.

As long as we win Saturday, that's all that matters.

This is just another thread to complain in.

If Butch were given 10 years at UT, he'd probably win the east once in that span, and never beat a Saban-coached Alabama in the regular season, or that lone SECCG appearance.

I made a joke in the RF a little while back about how Butch would probably come out with the old "only 23% of our team has played in the swamp" and I'll be darned if he doesn't come out with something just about as ridiculous. A lot of people on this board can't stand when someone says anything remotely negative about Jones, but can anybody see a Saban, Meyer or Harbaugh coming out with things like this? Just appears as if he really digs deep to come out with what a lot of people see as an excuse. Just looks like he's not confident in himself or his team.

He should have already had the depth built for the most part. He's recruited like a mad man for 5 years. They've recruited at an elite level and have developed those recruits at a below average level IMO.
