I'm watching "The U" on ESPN+. It talked about how the 1983 recruiting class was the group that turned it all around for Miami. After multiple multiple head coaches and athletic directors, the program was at rock bottom. They even considered shutting it down. Then they got Schnellenberger, and he went and recruited a class of guys from Miami. And those guys who had played with each other for years and years decided to play for their home school and then completely changed the narrative of that program.
I am hoping that Heupel can convince the class of 2022 to be that for us. We have more talent in the state of Tennessee than ever. And this class can be the key for us to change the narrative and get this program on the right direction. We NEED Ty Simpson, Walter Nolen to start the momentum of this class.
I fully believe we haven't seen the last of Tennessee football. We just need our "Class of '83"
