We Got Ourselves A Coach

He also had two future NBA players (3 if Richardson makes it), experience/continuity of players (in comparison), and size (in comparison).

I saw something I haven't seen in the previous three years. If you didn't, that's fine.

Two future NBA players? Stokes was playing very limited minutes after just being eligible for a game or two. He should have been a hs senior then. Who was the other? J Mac who is not in the NBA and at that point had averaged only 1.8 a game?

So if Mostella and Owens make the league in 4 years , J rich is drafted 2nd rd this year we should be mad if CDT didn't win 20 something games?

What have you seen that you havent seen? Martin's teams were known for playing hard. Boring low scores were the main complaint. Now that CDT scores less and wins with d also some are acting like the complaint was effort.

Good job by CDT.

Please leave Martin out of this though. Its annoying. We don't know what would have happened with him coaching. If its more exciting depends on your opinion. We are scoring less and winning with d just like Martin. Its not really much difference between the two.

I call B/S. CDT is coachin' em' up in the face of a fire, with a roster he put together at the last minute, with all kinds of innuendo and criticism swirling around. The previous guy who called himself a coach ran away like a school girl. Facts are facts. Don't tell me what I'm allowed to say pal, it's a freaking Internet message board.

I don't love Zo. I don'tbring him up first.

If someone says something dumb like a team that averages less is more exciting I will speak the truth though. If someone would have said Zo's o was more exciting than Pearl's I would have done the same thing. When someone claims Zo couldn't do things he actually did I will also correct them.

I have said several times to stop bringing up Martin. If someone does and their facts are wrong I will correct them.

What facts? You quoted someone posting an opinion. Put your mission on hold

You can say what you want. Be wrong all go want. I hope CDT wins a NC. Let's not act like he has proven himself already or has done better than the last two coaches though.

Yea and one scored more, overachieved each year and went to a Sweet 16 . I hope the other can match that. I could give a damn about the coach jumping around on the sidelines. People blamed Martin's stoic demeanor for foul calls. We now get even more called. So that was wrong. Maybe CDT should calm down some.

Thought you didn't want to bring him up?

I haven't seen u mention stop bringing up Zo when someone is praising him....it only seems to happen when someone is critical of Zo. I agree though bc I can't sand hearing his name any more.

CDT has a ways to go to compare to Pearl. But the previous coach, the lesser breed, constantly put an underperforming product on the floor, basked in mediocrity, couldn't adjust in game, never knew how to manage timeouts, and had the benefit of inheriting Hopson, Maymon and McRae. His recruiting sucked, and he had the presence of paint on the wall. It's safe to say CDT has surpassed his predecessor already. All you have to do is watch the team, win or lose, their demeanor, their hustle, their style, they definitely pass the eye test.

I think most, including myself thought this team would have trouble competing as c it has been put.....They are playing above our expectations right now.

He didn't inherit Hopson and Maymon avg 2.8 ppg and J Mac 1.8. DT got JRich and 5 star Hubbs who put up better freshman numbers than McRae.

They finished above projections each year so how did we underperform? So anything less than a NCAA bid this year is a failure?

Yes every yr without a tourney bid is a failure.....guys avg less when they sit on the bench and avg more when they step into starting roles....Maymon, McRae, golden were all talented players with some decent role players with a soon to be 5* stud but who cares Zo is gone.....get over him or follow him.....I don't care which.

Wake up. Last year's run was fun but it wasn't because of coaching. I'd argue it was in spite of coaching. The previous two years we limped into and lost early in the NIT. CDT has these boys playing ball, again, the eye test. The previous wuss couldn't get an inbounds play called after the timeout the opposing coach called, with one of the most dominant bigs in the college game.

Your man crush for Cuonzo aside, even you should be able to formulate this equation, although your Zo love keeps you from seeing things clearly. :eek:k:

Time to move along son.

Like I said VB I do respect your opinion on this. You have kept the same standards. I'm really not addressing you. I'm responding to the ones who thought we didn't win enough or score enough but now claim 65 ppg and one game over .500 is and will be a great exciting year.

As soon as people stop making stupid comparisons I will stop correcting them.

Everyone needs to get over Cuonzo. He left and is in sunny CA. I wish him the best but I feel Tyndall is a better coach than Zo. Give Cuonzo this team and it would be ugly. Yes I understand he had other good recruits coming here but I feel Tyndall is an overall better coach. Also Tyndall doesn't just wait at the other end on defense. The reason we won today was our defense.

If you "correct" someone and they say the same thing as before...are they correct?
