There are guys that got drafted from Southern Utah, Appalachian State, Grand Valley State, and Texas San Antonio....none of whom ran 4.4 and repped 225 31 times....none of whom made 36 starts in the best conference in the country, vs the best players in the country, while producing on a strong, consistent level. None of those guys made great plays vs top 20 teams, including the national champion Alabama.

I know it's been said that Randolph just didn't flash enough on film, didn't show enough burst, wasn't always in great, even good position. I'm certain all that's true. But if you're picking in the latter rounds and taking a flyer on a guy, why not take it on an SEC player with great athletic ability, and great emotional and mental makeup, rather than a guy from a school like Montana State?

On field production and talent/up-side.

Both were nice college players, but neither did enough to deserve being drafted IMO.

Hopefully they both make rosters and prove the experts and myself wrong.

What does that statement about Jackson mean? He's a phenomenal athlete who returns kicks, can play WR, but will be drafted as a corner. I love Cam Sutton and think he could go in the first round....but why would he go ahead of a more talented, more explosive athlete like Adoree? ..... unless you subscribe to idea of taking the more productive player, which I know you don't. I hope he does, but I'm not sure he will.

Im not sure that Tabor is necessarily overrated, but I agree that I'd take Cam before him. I think he's a better, more technically sound, more professional player who's gonna be a great pro.

I feel like Owen Williams will end up having a nice career on Sundays. Strong kid with a high motor. Really played well down the stretch but hell who knows I didn't see Justin Coleman starting for the Patriots. That is still mind blowing after watching him get burned for years lol.

NFL Scouts pour over tapes of all of these players. They search high and low and turn over every rock to find out everything they possibly can about every draftable prospect. They take that kid from the small school because they saw something in his film, something they think they can develop, something they think is special. They miss on a lot of guys, but sometimes they get lucky and find that perfect diamond in the rough. They obviously didn't see that potential in any of our guys, or they would have been drafted. Doesn't mean it's not there, but they didn't see it based on the hours upon hours of film they watched.

Your post makes a lot of sense and I know your point about scouts pouring through film and seeing things on tape for even obscure players is how it works. Just saying that while BR wasn't an all-SEC player here, he was also far from a scrub, who did some very good things over the course of 36 starts....and then throw in the ridiculous proday numbers. Was his film so bad in the face of everything else that nobody could abide "wasting" a 7th round pick on him? Kinda hard to believe, but I guess so. Hope he does well with the Rams, makes the squad and some teams regret their decision not to take him.

Mock drafts this far out are irrelevant. At this time last year Christian Hackenberg and Cardale Jones were first round picks and Carson Wentz was a nobody.

Mock drafts this far out are usually based on hype either from what happened last year or left over from recruiting rankings (i've seen some mocks with Dashawn Hand going in the first round).

Adoree Jackson is actually not very good at corner. I've watched him play a bunch and he gets burned way too much. Will Fuller turned him inside out last fall when Notre Dame played USC.

He's a guy still living off his recruiting hype imo.

Even Todd McShay doesn't know what he's talking about this far out.

Look up his 2016 Mock draft from last year at this time. He also had Christian Hackenberg, Cardale Jones, and I believe Connor Cook as well going in the first round. There were also other choices that turned out hilariously wrong but I can't remember.

Mock drafts this far out, even by draft experts like McShay are totally worthless.

Mock drafts are indeed irrelevant....your "mock draft" had North going in the fourth, possibly in the third. Another we saw had him going in the 6th to the Steelers, 220th overall....both were way off.

Yet, despite your proclamation that he's not a very good corner, there he is, named 1st team all-Pac12 last year at corner. Bet one of those idiot NFL GMs who dared not take North in the 4th round this year will once again show their stupidity next year when they take Adoree as the first or second CB taken in the first round.

A lot of that is because of recruiting hype. Remember Robert Nkemdiche was named all-american a couple of times. So you think he deserved that given his putrid production?
