Recovery is running an hour behind. Normally if I'm recovering good I can gain 4-5 hours.

Training readiness dropped to 1.

Long story short....understanding cortisol is important before you start trying to treat it. As with most everything, its important to health so there are money grabs urrwhure. Supplements, cocktail, special powders etc.

Diet, sleep, regular excersise is key. Surprise!

Anyway, I see that pomegranate arils are more beneficial in many ways than I realized.

I eat blueberries, skrawberries and blackberries. Imma add these too.

I fasted 48 hours, only black coffee and water. Yesterday I ate approximately 420 calories.

215 protein/inulin/creatine shake
85 baby carrots
120 Dave's killer bread toast

My watch said I burned 1214 active calories. I think it over estimates active calories. Resting calories I believe is on point according to research of what it should be.

So with that same research I figured my watch overestimating about 18% so I round it to 20%. That would be 971. Im trying to stay at consuming half of active calories for 5 days.

*Im not counting the calories in vitamins or my geritol.

Egg, tuna and spinach salad on the menu today. Baby carrots for snack. They're supposedly 3.5 calories each, I round it to 5. I hear they're good for prostate.

I've been trying to balance out my cortistol for a few months now. Outside of diet, sleep, exercise, let me know if you find any real secret keys.

I read an article this morning about all the benefits of a "cortisol cocktail ". Im like cool, I'm going to Walmart and get the ingredients I don't have.

Then I searched WebMD and Mayo Clinic, you can at least trust them not to try and sell you products.

After reading both, diet, sleep and exercise is the key. My problem is the excersise causes the high cortisol and inflammation and the high cortisol and inflammation cause the stress and the stress interrupts my sleep. Lol.

Foods that can help lower cortisol are foods Im eating now, except the pomegranate arils. I just bought some and will add them to my diet and see.

Its 2 and I'm still on 1 TR and still running behind an hour on recovery. Should be 72 and its 73.

I've taken it easy all day and....

When do you do your workouts? Typically if I do mine in the morning or early afternoon, I'm fine for stress and sleep. But right now it's so hot and humid, I'm waiting til not only after work, but sometimes even pushing runs to 6ish, that it's prolly a major contributor to my poor sleep. I'm trying to cycle to early early morning workouts 5 am ish. But I'm struggling with motivation to get out of bed that early... due to poor sleep.

Yeah, you know.....that could be something to look at.

I used to run at 5am but stopped because I got tired of running in the dark. Its not possible to get a good run in if I start later. Ive been starting between 12:30 - 1:30 and usually finished by 4.

I have no problem getting up at 4:45 and start my run by 5:00, but again, Ive enjoyed running in the sun catching some rays and sweating like Oprah on a treadmill.

I will think about this. 👍

Good deal!

My stress was 11 and 13 Wednesday and Thursday night respectively. I wont say the pomegranate had that big of an effect that soon. I didn't run just walked 4 miles, I ate well and went to bed at 9:35 But it didn't make it worse so I'm encouraged.

Did very little yesterday and gained 1 point in Training Readiness when I Went to bed last night it was 67.

66 this morning. 79 sleep score, 7:17 hours, Excellent deep....Anyway.

Looked at my spreadsheet and this all started last Tuesday with my 6.43 run/walk/sprint.

Last Tuesday...

Im fasting from calories and shows/movies and Im all over the place listening to music. Suzy Boggus is on right now and Im diggin it. Lol.

Posting them here instead of the Listening thread trying to make this thread cool again. Lulz.

Maybe fasting and running/walking/sprinting while fasting is a bad idea?

So cool you can collect data and analyze it for yourself like that.
