I've been trying to balance out my cortistol for a few months now. Outside of diet, sleep, exercise, let me know if you find any real secret keys.Long story short....understanding cortisol is important before you start trying to treat it. As with most everything, its important to health so there are money grabs urrwhure. Supplements, cocktail, special powders etc.
Diet, sleep, regular excersise is key. Surprise!
Anyway, I see that pomegranate arils are more beneficial in many ways than I realized.
I eat blueberries, skrawberries and blackberries. Imma add these too.
I read an article this morning about all the benefits of a "cortisol cocktail ". Im like cool, I'm going to Walmart and get the ingredients I don't have.I've been trying to balance out my cortistol for a few months now. Outside of diet, sleep, exercise, let me know if you find any real secret keys.
When do you do your workouts? Typically if I do mine in the morning or early afternoon, I'm fine for stress and sleep. But right now it's so hot and humid, I'm waiting til not only after work, but sometimes even pushing runs to 6ish, that it's prolly a major contributor to my poor sleep. I'm trying to cycle to early early morning workouts 5 am ish. But I'm struggling with motivation to get out of bed that early... due to poor sleep.I read an article this morning about all the benefits of a "cortisol cocktail ". Then I searched WebMD and Mayo Clinic, you can at least trust them not to try and sell you products.
After reading both, diet, sleep and exercise is the key. My problem is the excersise causes the high cortisol and inflammation and the high cortisol and inflammation cause the stress and the stress interrupts my sleep. Lol.
Foods that can help lower cortisol are foods Im eating now, except the pomegranate arils. I just bought some and will add them to my diet and see.
Its 2 and I'm still on 1 TR and still running behind an hour on recovery. Should be 72 and its 73.
I've taken it easy all day and....

@abner61 this sounds like the right explanation!2+ hours of REM. Clearly you do something right to keep him stress free
Im fasting from calories and shows/movies and Im all over the place listening to music. Suzy Boggus is on right now and Im diggin it. Lol.
Posting them here instead of the Listening thread trying to make this thread cool again. Lulz.
So cool you can collect data and analyze it for yourself like that.Did very little yesterday and gained 1 point in Training Readiness when I Went to bed last night it was 67.
66 this morning. 79 sleep score, 7:17 hours, Excellent deep....Anyway.
Looked at my spreadsheet and this all started last Tuesday with my 6.43 run/walk/sprint.
Last Tuesday...
Maybe fasting and running/walking/sprinting while fasting is a bad idea?
