Only 2 things the 955 and 965 wont get is obviously the flashlight and they wint get ECG because of the sensor. Other than that the only difference is the sapphire lens, which is something you might want to consider. Lol.

The only issues I have with mine is I wish it was lighter and thinner. I considered selling it and getting the 970, but the difference is only .9 mm in thickness and 6 grams in weight. Afraid that ain't enough.

With my favorite band and the case it weighs 102 grams. Thats heavy. So now I use the band it came with and no case. That brings it down to 73 grams.

It kind of works out that I need a replacement one way or the other cuz I need a new band. i just don’t think there’s enough new to justify the $630 price difference. Plus it’s a brand new watch, not just getting fixed.

So its $120 for a new 965?

Yeah, if your looking at the money its not enough to justify it. You'd basically be paying $630 for a really cool flashlight and the new gen 5 sensor.

One thing mine has that the 970 has that may not be a big deal to everyone buts its huge to me is being able to adjust the font size. I don't even need to squint without my glasses. Thats invaluable to me. That alone was worth the upgrade for me. Plus the flashlight is too cool. Lol.

$120 to replace it yea. I guess what I’m going to do is pay $160 to express ship it and then they’ll give $40 back when they receive my old one

Hope it all works out. I'm probably gonna keep mine and see if the new features from the 970 get shared with mine. Running tolerance, impact load factor and running economy are three I think I would monitor. The running economy requires the new HRM though. But, if my watch gets those Ill spring for the new HRM. I wear mine every time I do any type of activity. It's 4 years old and the clip is loose so, yeah, I can justify it. Lol.

Ordered the replacement. Paid an additional $11 to get 2 day shipping. I’m going out of town for a week Friday and wanted it in time before I left.

I'd be willing to bet good money it will. So will mine.

That last link I posted last night all but confirmed it.

I mean, after I got my Fenix and all its cool new software it was just a short time the 965 got all of them.

My only concern is how much if any end up behind the pay wall. Im sure Evening report won't, but the other 2 Im looking forward to might.

I don't think they will, but we'll see.

Was reading about a new beta update being released and had a thought on this post.

The 965 has the gen4 sensor and the 970 and 570 have the gen5. The gen5 is a big upgrade from the 4 but they say the gen6 wont make as big of a jump from the 5 as the 5 did from the 4. And the 6 is likely 2-3 years away and anything the 6 can do the 5 will more than likely do too.

Anyway, my point is if you get a new 965 you might consider selling it and go ahead and get the 970. At least you'd be set for all new updates for at least 4-5 years, maybe longer.

They're already talking about the ECG being able to monitor while doing an activity which open the door for more information that you probably wont look at more than 2-3 times. But it would be nice to have it available.

Just a thought.

I got to a point last year where I was afraid my watch dictated what kind of day I was gonna have. So I added a 3 point checklist on my DRR (Daily Routine Report) that I check before I look at my watch every morning. Another way for me to test the accuracy of the watch.

This morning I felt "Good".
My body battery was 88. Sleep score was 81. My training readiness was 84. Stress was 12 overall.

Your watch should have gotten an update yesterday or the day before. If not you should check to see if its available. The update includes a sleep update that will make it even more accurate and supposedly help identify sleep apnea.

81??? I've been in the 70's one time and that was today. 😂 Body battery is 53 and that's a lot higher than normal. lol

I knew my scores would be good (fair) and not poor cause I could feel it when I woke up. I couldn't wait to get started (coffee, Bible Recap, workout, in that order).

It's set on auto update. I charged it yesterday so maybe it updated then. 1000016466.jpg

It's usually between 80-100 after my recovery days Sunday and Wednesday. 40-60 on the other days.

What's your stress look like? Thats what kills my BB.

Yeah, the 10.14 is the update. You're good.

The battery on these things are phenomenal. During a test I went 17 days with only 1 30 minute use of GPS and still had 32% left before charging it.

I use a face that has 2 different screens. Default main screen I use no colors. Second screen one 1 color. But I use the brightest setting and alot of info fields including seconds.
