Want To Know What's Really Embarrassing?

The timing was a big factor, but if the roster looked like any decent SEC roster then someone would've bit. The problem was, even Muschamp looked at the situation and laughed. Tells you a lot.

dude at the time muschamp was the coach in waiting for texas, he went to florida because they paid him to and it was then and is now a better football school. hate to say it but its true, you dont know what you are talking about so all youre doing is making dooley supporters look dumber than everybody already thinks they are. for those who want to know muschamp has a five-year, $13.7 million deal.

Only a moron believes the job was attractive to top shelf candidates when Dooley was hired. Maybe they could have thrown some $$$ around and gotten someone with a little better resume... but they weren't getting a hot commodity like Muschamp at the time. He could (and did) command the same or more money as UT could offer from a program that wasn't a wreck.

None of the in demand coaches wanted to risk their careers on rebuilding UT from where it was. You can delude yourselves all you like. You can believe that coaches are short sighted enough to take a job with a high probability for failure because you dangle some money in front of them. The fact is that any rational professional looks at the likelihood for success before taking a job. The UT job was set up for failure.

The most likely "success" for a hire at the time would be to become a set up man for the successor. Top shelf coaches aren't interested in that.

Finally! Someone that makes sense.

Hmm, so now we are measuring "likes". Damn, you are such a GIRL. IJS. This is the second time that I've heard this in two days. Troll confirmation in my book. The other was from another troll. That is soooo Chickish. Wait, come on, go to the bathroom with me....MuthF-er. Here's a thought. Let's stop checking out each others shoes and talk FB (that's FOOTBALL...not "mean girl" Facebook). However, I have to ask, where do you get your nails done and will you vote (like) for me if I vote (like) for you? BTW, if you are going to go all "high school chick", I feel it my duty to tell you that you should avoid the name Mr. or Miss Fister. IJS

who wants this coach instead? 19-16 Lost all three bowl games by a combined score 134-46. That's how Saban started his first 3 years at Michigan State... I bet they wish they could have kept him around. Get behind the team or join another one.

The fact that he took his team to 3 straight bowl games says alot. You might also note that Michigan State was 14-31 the 4 years prior to Saban getting there and coming off NCAA sanctions.

He also took a 6-5 Toledo team to 9-2 in 1 season(the 2 loses were by a total of 5 points) in his only other HC job before Michigan State. He had proved he could win.

These threads are getting embarrassing cause everything you just stated is in about 100 different threads floating around. Constant repeat of our down times will not make things better.

These guys don't want it better. They want to be right at all cost, even the program. Cut off nose to spite face

Dooley has a contract to coach at UT. He's gonna' get paid. No amount of complaining is going to change that.

You mean the Vandy team that went to a bowl game last year, when we didn't?

And the Kentucky team that beat us for the first time in 26 years with a receiver at QB, and 4 that's right 4 days to install a new offense.

Both of which took place in our coach's 2nd year.

Just confirming

People keep talking about the mess Dooley walked into here. Yes, Fulmer had a couple down years and his recruiting classes ended up in the 20's-30's. Oh how people forget that 2 of the last 4 were ranked in the top 5. Yes, TOP 5. It all comes down to taking that talent and coaching it. A kid is only a 5 star talent as they project him to be a early contributer in college. He can make an impact right away. He still needs to be coached and that is where our troubles start. Maggitt and Johnson are 2 prime examples. IMO, if they were on another team they would be talked about alot. They would be making alot of plays and helping win games. Here they are just part of a group that is baing made a joke of everytime they take the field. 500 yards a game, it's like a video game and our team is set on beginner and the other team is on heisman.
Sorry, you lost all credibility when you said "2 out of 4 of the last 4 classes were TOP 5". How many of those kids graduated or "went pro" early? Then, what is your opinion of the roster at the end of Fulmer's tenure? Lastly, and where you went from a little strange (like a treky neighbor that is really alright, but a little whacked) is when you mentioned, right after you put the "I'm gay for Fulmer" sign in your figurative frontyard, that the thing that this team is missing is being "coached up". WOW. Fulmer "coached them up", right? I just want to hear you say it because you made a bit of a leap in your post and either had an act of obvious omission or skipped over what was sure to be an "achilles heel" to your argument.

lol you mad?
Naw, I'm your B**ch, Fister (whoa, that sounded bad). I love having guys with monikers making fun of the "coach of" and my favorite team.......since I could SPEAK.....and, frankly, those that stand with said coach and team and then have a "make fun with my moniker of the supporters of the coach of the team I say I support", as that coach attempts to rebuild from the ashes while supposed "fans" pot-shot from their FREAKING easychairs. But what I REALLY love is having you all up on my "likes" and sh**. Although, when I didn't make "cheer" last yr I thought I'd GAG and you not going to the bathroom with me and not "liking" my "likes" really hurts and stuff, ya know??

As long as we're confirming, I'd like to confirm that you think that last year was our coaches REAL second year. Further more, are you going to neglect what transpired BEFORE "Our Coach" (that even hurt to type.....like saying Ahmadinejad just wants peace) took the reigns? I'm not going through this again, I just want to hear you say it so that I can unmercifully make fun of your dumb arse.

Did he get paid for 2 years? I honestly do not know the answer, but if he did get paid then yes it was his 2nd.. If he didn't get paid then it wasn't...

I don't wanna call anyone a negavol in this situation...but if you honestly thought ANY coach was gonna win here in his first few years right away here is an absolutely stupid person. My gosh do you people not understand what Kiffin did to this program. I know you don't wanna hear all the excuses, however, hardly any program has had to endure what Tennessee has had to deal with. WAKE UP AND FACE REALITY.

Look in any program he was our coach. Use of semantics doesn't change the facts. He is not an idiot. He was well aware of the situation, so was Hamilton. That is probably why a coach with such a poor head coaching record(yes the rest of the world counted his first year at ULM too) got such a sweet contract.

He came into a grease fire here, and on insanely short notice. He also knew Fulmer got fired after going 29-21 his last 4 years, and 123-31 prior to that. Expectations were and are high, he knows it.

He was and is at best, a transition coach, that is in his 3rd year.

Oh, by the way you're a tool, at best.:hi:

Hey!!! Glad to have you join the Vol FB world. I'm not even going to entertain this past that comment and it's not because I'm not glad to have ya around. I just don't have the energy to go that "baseline". Seriously, no offense intended. It is just draining to either have to read total crap and ignore it or defend it from unrealistic "fans". Well, crap, because I sense some sort of sincerity in your post, here goes Dooley came in two weeks before the first signing class. Most players from Kiff's yr were gone or about to be and most top recruits that had committed before or AS he was hired, bailed. He had to roll into the first season with that arsenal and a WHOLE lot of apathy and emotional baggage. Just imagine. Now, he get's one recruiting year and season in the SE=FREAKING=C......not the PAC 10 or Big 12. He get's everything that you could expect after all of that and has to go into his recruiting year after that gauntlet and try to convince new, quality players to come here vs. Bammer, Fl., SC, Ga....on and on. The funny thing to me (not pointed at you) is why this has to be rehashed every freaking day. I swear, it's like being back in college and trying to explain to my roommates that, no matter what they remembered, it actually HAD been a month since we paid the electric bill.

Tool at best. I LOVE it. None of you undermining nega's can ever give a validated response....just more of that half arse stuff like you just did and then call "tool". Nice. You "wow" me. I'm swayed... I am giving my tickets away until Hart get's a clue(which clue was it again??.... the "He should just be better and we only win at Tn" clue or the "we should have hired another vanilla D coordinator" clue....or was it the "we are Tennessee and let's simply hire Gruden" clue?..FIRE DOOLEY.....f-ing BRILLIANT!!!!!! Shweew!! I feel smarter already! Come back when you can make a vlidated argument, TOOL!!

Sheeeeet. Why would you struggle with calling a negavol a negavol? That's scary. You can be a realist and critical of certain things without lynching a coach and gutting the players that stuck it out. They will pull semantics here, but REALLY look at the posts and you'll se why I finally....aftter years....had found myself listening quietly for far too long and called an idiot an idiot. Status and "wizard behind a curtain" be damned. Wrong id WRONG
