Wake up Vols......

... by 3 schools, he is getting out-recruited. There was no discernible difference between Tennessee's class of 2025 and that of LSU, Auburn, Texas A&M and Florida's.
yeah but the recruiting cycle for 2026 is early on. the heavy hitters haven't even entered the top of the rankings yet but they will.

last year Heupel had the 8th best class in the SEC alone and 11th over all. they also were 8th in the SEC 2024 and 6th in 2023 and 9th in 2022.

history says he isn't getting it done. you can have opinions about average player rankings etc but this is flat out undeniable.

as I said earlier we won't recruit an an elite level until Heupel takes the players he has and runs the table in the SEC. he needs to become the alpha dog of the conference.

I say this a lot but it's true ..... Only focusing on the numerical rankings list gives an incomplete picture. Attention should be given to the composite average player ratings before making complaints.

This is what I'm talking about :

Florida finished 7th and Tennessee finished 11th overall in the 247 Class of 2025 Composite Football Team Recruiting Rankings.

That would lead a person to believe that Florida signed a significantly better class than Tennessee did, if the numerical rankings list is the sole focus. However, Tennessee's average player rating is higher than Florida's (91.32 to 91.12). Florida only finished ahead of Tennessee because they signed two more 3 star players than Tennessee did.

Too much is made of the numerical recruiting rankings list on here, and not enough attention is given to the average player ratings.

Florida is 4 spots higher than Tennessee, but they are not out-recruiting Tennessee. I would not trade our Class of 2025 for theirs. No way.

yeah but you're talking about ONE team, Florida.

LSU, Auburn, TAMU all had higher averages and were ranked ahead of us.

the REAL problem is Texas, Georgia, Alabama, Ohio State, Oregon, and Michigan all had significantly higher averages and ranked ahead of us. and of those team only Georgia and OSU signed more players.

so your argument works for ONE of the SEVEN SEC teams that out recruited us. So I fail to see how looking at the recruiting ranking the way that I do really means I'm being mislead. I think we got out recruited by a bunch of SEC teams no matter which metric you use.

also there's a very high likelihood that Florida beats Tennessee this year with those players they recruited.

Maybe so ..... but we were not out-recruited by Florida. There is no way I would trade our Class of 2025 for theirs.

There is a lot of talk about whether Tennessee is a blue blood. I get worked up. Historically we are a blue blood. But we don't recruit like a blue blood.
We don't have as strong a recruiting base to work from as Georgia, Texas, Texas A&M, Alabama, LSU, Florida and Auburn, and we are still trying to build some credibility back as being a consistent contender. It won't happen overnight.

You avoid every question. You do realize portal rankings are just as important if not more?

LOL. I look like someone who knows that Tennessee;s average player rankings is on par with everyone but Georgia, Alabama and Texas .... You look like some who wants to be cool by using "bro." What are you 15? LOL. What a clown.

Come back when you've been a member for more than a day .... and grown up a little bit too.
He is just mad cause he got exposed.

Heupel is not a dynamic personality. That isn't fatal, recruiting wise, it just means that he needs to surround himself with solid recruiting position coaches and coordinators. We have one excellent recruiter (Garner) on staff, then a bunch of "meh".

It's also "known" that "Heupel doesn't fire anyone". Loyalty is good, but keeping bestest buddies on staff because you're buddies is a good way to fail.

I'm worried. Heupel seems strangely unconcerned. I don't sense urgency with him. Ever. Stability is good, but passivity is bad.

Time will tell.
