Read on TOS by a very credible poster that Hamilton said on the radio today the CF deal was discussed while Kiffin was still the head coach at UT. Hammy basically implied that Kiffin knew this was not a possibility before he told the story to ESPN. Just another immature PR move. One of many to come while SC is in the trash can.
Exactly. I imagine an Urban Meyers-Lane Kiffin matchup would draw lots of attention, if that is what he's looking for.
Changing schedules is just that easy. Economic breach happens all the time.
VolDad....dude you need to keep up. Gary Stokan started and ran the Atlanta Sports Council for years. He left that group to head up the CFA games both pre and post season. He KNOWS his stuff. For someone who lives in the Atlanta area I cannot believe you don't know this.
The Schedule is already made. We would probably lose money coming out of one of our OOC games. Come on guys, it's not about being scared or getting beat, it's about money. That's what it's always about. Yea it will be on national TV but so will the other games.
This is Kiffin's way of trying to one-up us for stealing his player(s...). He knew Mike would say no because schedules are made years in advance, not one season prior.
This just gives ESPN something else to talk about, Kiffin loves having his name in the media and looking like the big bad bully, and I'm sure he is using this as a motivation factor for his remaining players... "Look guys, they are afraid to play you, that's why they are trying to steal you away from your home,".
I wouldn't have excepted either, we have a pretty unique and challenging schedule for 2011 already.
And dont let me forget, it wouldn't help us out much in the rankings because USC won't be included in the Coaches Poll, that means no BCS points for beating them since even if they are undefeated, they'll be unranked.
Why? Do you really want to see Tenn get obliterated on national Tv?
Do you think Nick Saban thought that way when Bama faced 2 season openers against top 10 ranked teams ? Those 2 games put Bama back in the national spotlight against Clemson and Va.Tech. Auburn had the same chance this year and turned it down. Scheduling problems? Sure. LSU worked it out, Auburn could have too. Tn. should have taken this game , it would have done more for the program, look what this did for Bama to knock off a top 10 ranked team the first game.
