The Florida win should have put us in the the top 10. The Georgia win should bump us up to the top 5.

Florida would harve SURGED up the rankings had they won Saturday.

Don't try and tell people that. I expect the negavols to make an appearance soon

I dont buy it yet but we are getting closer to a top 5 type team. When we go thru bama and a&m we will know. Till then its just hopeful on our part.

Not a nega, but some of y'all are obsessed.

Why not enjoy the win for a little while instead of whining about all the Nega-Vols who aren't complaining right now.

They are "like" hunters looking to increase their e-peen.. Gotta beg for that thumbs up by using the negavol word.

I agree with the top 10 thing, but I think we have to beat the Dawgs and the Aggies to hit the top 5.

Multiple teams have to lose before we are Top 5. And they will.....Clemson/Louisville, Michigan/Ohio St, Wisconsin/Ohio St, Etc......We keep winning and polls take care of themselves

The next few games will determine the season. Phase 1 of the 'gauntlet' is over..now it's gets even tougher.

I will say as hard as I have been on Butch, when u watch him right after the Florida game it's really hard not to like the guy and appreciate how invested he is in Tennessee. I'm happy for him. His devotion and love for the program is real and it was great to see him get that weight off his back. I still question alot of his decisions...but I don't question the other stuff.

We shouldn't worry about any polls. Just take care of our own business and we will be fine. Beat UGA we will sneak into the Top 10 around 8-9. Beat A&M and you'll get closer to the 5-6 range. All that matters is our own play.

Make it to 11-1. Then win the SEC. The committee is not going to leave out the 12-1 SEC Champ from the playoffs. We control our own destiny it is as simple as that.

I cant help feeling that if Wisconsin or Texas or Georgia would've beaten Florida they would miraculously be #3 right now.

Should we lose to either A & M or "O" Bama or lose to both of them, we will fall, of course. However; with five weeks left after the Alabama game, we will gradually rise up again in the polls because other teams will begin to lose.
Should we lose to A & M or Bama, we won't fall very far because they are both quality teams and not teams that we were definitely predicted to beat anyway.

But ESPN says to sell us. Computers, bahhhh... what do they know?

That's not ESPN - That's a gambling guru who is a special contributor to ESPN - the same guy who apparently picked us to only have 4 wins this season justifying his "gambling advise" to subscribers with his conclusion that we would fall apart after the Florida Loss and get toasted even by the back end of our schedule because - get this - the guys behind the starters on our team have not bought in to the Butch Jones philosophy. To me his argument made no sense - why would these kids sign with Butch if they weren't going to buy in? Never mind the slew of young guys behind the starters who have stepped up big time for us due to injuries.

One thing to keep in mind when reading ESPN articles nowadays is that they've had to cut out a lot of high dollar writers so the guys they're publishing now are ranked well outside what you might think of as the ESPN 300. It's a matter of economics and Disney's demand that they continue to cut costs.

At the moment ESPN SEC Power rankings have us at #3 in the conference behind A&M and Alabama and the ESPN FPI has us at #8 in the nation. Seems legit as those are the only 2 games FPI does not have us favored.

I was generalizing. Thank for the info though! Sincerely.

One year Florida went from number four all the way up to number one after beating ninth ranked Tennessee. That Florida win should've at least put us BACK to number 9, which is where we started.

If we best Georgia & Texas A&M then we should be number one before we even play Alabama. Compare the would be wins between us & Bama. We'd have beaten Tech, UF, UGA + A&M. Meanwhile, Bama would have wins over USC, Ole Miss, Kentucky & Arkansas. Our winlist would at least be equal to anyone's, and actually be better than most.

It really doesn't/shouldn't matter to the team but i was nonplussed with us only moving up to 11.

The "I'm a better fan than you are" game must be recognized, whether we like it or not.

We should be ahead of Washington. Up to this point, they have done absolutely nothing to justify them being ahead of us.
