Warren had a drop and Lowe looked like a freshman when he came out of his break, turned his head and couldn't find the ball as it whistled by him. Of the group behind Wood-Anderson, Pope looked like the most natural pass-catcher in limited viewing.

Lowe moves pretty well for a 6-foot-4, 253-pounder and looks comfortable when he's running routes. He's got good athleticism for his size and is no stranger to making plays in the pass game

Freshman Brian Maurer is comfortable throwing on the run and looked more assured in that setting than redshirt freshman JT Shrout, but both young quarterbacks continue to be a little bit up and down with their accuracy.
Jauan Jennings continues to run routes out of the slot, a position group with only two other scholarship wideouts in Jordan Murphy and Jacquez Jones.

Jahmir Johnson continues to work exclusively at left tackle and is taking most of his reps alongside Jerome Carvin at left guard. Freshman Wanya Morris is also working at left tackle, and after he made a mistake with a whiff on a block during one tandem drill, he bounced back and got it right on his next turn. Ryan Johnson appeared to get increased work at center during one period.

For the second straight practice, head coach Jeremy Pruitt took over a DL drill and was visibly frustrated by the lack of technique with several players.

he DL unit seemed to respond to the tough coaching though, getting real practice from Tracy Rocker during the next drill. Matthew Butler, John Mincey and Latrell Bumphus all got shout-outs during 1-on-1 leverage gap drills.

At linebacker, Will Ignont and Daniel Bituli continue to lead the inside unit.

At outside ‘backer, the Vols continue to force-fed Jordan Allen reps. We’ll see if anything materializes on that front — he continues to run 3rd team for now — but they seem to be trying to accelerate his development.

As a whole, Jarrett Guarantano looked sharp during the period, connecting on a nice deep-in to Jauan Jennings and throwing several timely balls to the sideline. Aside from the tight ends, the Vols did a few new things during the drill, having guys go in motion and lining up Jennings in the slot some.

Meanwhile, Brian Maurer continued to struggle with his accuracy, missing a pair of roll-out outs and getting an earful from Tyler Byrd after one rep.

Are these additional updates from practice 4 on Wednesday or Practice 5 from today? Title says Practice 4.

Gotta wonder if this is a make or break year for Rocker. Seems like a bit of a weak link on this staff.

Has Warren gained enough weight to play this year? I feel like he is a long term project but that he has a very high ceiling.
