  1. Our tradition transcends our conference. From the vol walk to the vol navy our traditions would fit well in any conference and bring recruits in. We have no true rivals in the SEC. I think the Vols are capable of being in any conference and succeeding.
  2. If we were to not win 10 games again over the next decade what do we do? Do we continue to stay in a conference that won’t be getting any easier?
  3. Playoffs are the only thing that matters going forward. It doesn’t matter what conference you are in. If you make the playoffs you have a chance to win it all.

While I agree, something does have to give as it has become blatantly obvious the HQ in Birmingham is out to maintain Bubba & Uga as the elite in the conference and everyone else gets crapped on. This years officiating wreaks of that command from the top…

I agree, we could win the conference and make playoffs. We aren't winning SEC again in my lifetime at this rate.

Have you checked to make sure the ACC headquarters in NC is not biased toward to 4 NC schools and doesn't already hate UT? You better first make sure the refs in the ACC won't be the cause of all UT losses like they are in the SEC.

Might also want to make sure there’s going to be an ACC going forward, but we could develop an awesome rivalry with Stanford if the ACC stays together . I would love to see the Vol faithful go out to Palo Alto . It would be like caddy day at the pool in Caddyshack. Stanford people would freak out.

I don’t t like running from a fight, but the team proximities are really pretty similar and would not mind if we were in the ACC. I don’t want to switch though. The ACC is not nearly the cash cow that the SEC is. We would have an immediate advantage in facilities but would not have the funds to keep everything going. The SEC becoming a national instead of regional conference is the way of the world, but I am not a fan of the change.

No team is leaving the SEC for the ACC until they get a new TV deal. The ACC is falling behind quickly in the arms race with their current deal.

Apparently , someone felt the need to just start a thread. Then pick an off the wall subject matter. Voila! you have this thread. This makes about as much sense as going swimming with gators and sharks and expecting no harm. Not trying to be cruel, but the meds may be off prescribed levels as questioned earlier.
