Vols release season's first depth chart

Comparing to depth chart posted earlier, Crowder is now in 2 deep ahead of Gooch, but Arnett still is not. I knew Arnett and Dallas would be a tight battle. I believe it was V. Dallas who was smoking those db's in camp video. He was quick and shifty, glad he is doing well.

Actually Bullard is the back-up center, he and Stone are interchangeable. If one is out at center the other would take over and Schofield, etc, would come in, IIRC.

i hate not seeing Milton in the two deep at receiver.

This is Dooley Deception 101, all meant to further confound opponents' preparation. Nothing is what it seems. Trust the word of One Who Knows.

Look at all those freshman in the 2-deep on the OLine... safe to say Richardson and Jackson are studs though.

Randolph being in the 2-deep at safety is really impressive. Dude was our most underrated recruit based off of his film.

This team will be sick in 2012 and 2013.

I like Lane and Maggitt as well, but it wouldn't surprise me at all to see Coleman have a bigger impact. Coaches are surprisingly high on Coleman.

11:55 a.m. UPDATE

Freshman safety Pat Martin will transfer, coach Derek Dooley announced after practice in what he called a mutual decision. Martin, a four-star recruit from Greenville, S.C., was not listed on the two-deep depth chart.

Receivers Rajon Neal (knee) and Matt Milton (concussion) were back at practice in red non-contact jerseys, and tailback Tom Smith (knee) and receiver Zach Rogers (triceps) returned to practice fully.

Kerbyson playing tackle surprises me. I thought he would have issues with his speed/quickness on the outside. Guess he has shown the coaches enough of those to put him out there.

A few things I notice:

1) Four freshman in the two deep at offensive line. If we have injuries there, it could get ugly.

2) Matt Milton not in the two deep. That's not looking good.

3) Where the hell is Byron Moore?
