Longtime Lurker ...first Time poster . Seen comments on the Vols ' bad QB production last season , but I am more optimistic . Remember when Ainge couldn't tie his shoes when he was our part time QB ...competing against Rick game after game ? Meachum was viewed as a career underachiever and the talking heads said that UT just didn't have any playmakers ? Enter Coach Cutts second tour ...Meachum is a first round draft pick and Ainge is a top 10 nationally ranked QB , that hapless O line gave up 5 sacks in a season . Then you bring in the Clawfence ...and presto chango ...everybody sucks again . I remember Crompton started two games for Ainge ( LSU and Da Hogs ) He was great given his inexperience . I think he and the other two can look good once again with some decent coaching and playcalling . All 3 QBs appear to have potential ... If Crompton can play in Cutts pro-style ...odds are he is going to do well in this offense rather than that mangled train wreck they were running last season .
