Vols Practice Thread Wednesday

We've never lost a practice, have we?

Show me how good you are on the field of play. We all appreciate the PF info, but it does not transfer into on-field success. At least not yet. I'd rather be 0-2 on the Practice field, and 2-0 on the season...as opposed to where we really are.

Go Vols.

I'm not sure I've ever heard of a coach that plays guys who have terrible practices

As opposed to playing a guy who practices well, but struggles in games.

If an 8-15 starter is the best we have, well...we're in for a long year.

Go Vols.
I'm just saying. From a coaching perspective, it would be hard to put a guy out there who cant even make plays in practice. I dont blame the coach for not having faith in the guys. I blame the backups more for not being able to perform in practice to make it a competition

You do have guys who play at another level on the field(I was one). CJP mentioned it when he made that "under the lights" statement about backup QBs.

BM wins that competition hands down. He’s the real deal rolling out and throwing while running. A real threat to keep it and run to if he sees a crease. He’s a true duel threat and exactly what we need right now.
How do we know this?

Bituli and Thompson back to give us a boost. The other guys start to figure things out.

Chaney sprinkles some Crompton Reformation Magic Dust on JG.

We are undefeated in SEC play. Bring on the Swamp. Let’s ride!

Food for thought, Crompton had started in like 8 games before Chaney/ Kiffin got there. Guarantano just started his 18th game. It took until the end of the Auburn game for the lights to come on for crompton. If you don’t count western Kentucky(crompton threw for 230 yards and 5 tds) the Georgia game was cromptons break out game, and he played pretty good the rest of the year. Maybe Chaney and Guarantano will click sooner than he and Crompton did. Here’s to hoping Guarantano plays better Saturday.

ummmm....it's UTC, why wouldn't he play better? If he doesn't then something has to give!

He didn’t play any better against Georgia st., there were receivers running open all over the field and he was checking down to guys that were covered.
Sorry, should have put that first sentence in blue font.

I've got an idea. What if fl overlooks us. We return their favor of beating us with a back-up QB. Smack them in the mouth while they're sleeping. Maybe Mullens game planning for jg then surprise! Pruitts master plan.

For the second-straight day, the offensive line worked on a short-yardage/leverage drill with the dummies on the ground. Wanya Morris showed some improvement in the drill, while Marcus Tatum was forced to redo a rep twice after barely moving the blocking pad.

That blocking pad must have been a five star coming out of HS.
You’re wrong, I have it from a solid source the blocking pad was a 3 star that plays in the OVC, so it’s quite understandable why we might have trouble pushing it around

Ha, I would say you have started your weekend drinking a little early. Seriously though, I do think FL will overlook us but not sure we can capitalize on it.

Yeah we probably won't. They could commit 6 turnovers in this game, a reverse of last yr if you will, and we'd still find a way to lose.
