We've obviously heard little about our DB's. What kind of coverage will we play against WV? Zone or M to M??
My guess is Man.

Is it just me or does the news about the RB position seem conspicuously silent.

There’s just not a lot of news for any position group or even for the team in general. For better or for worse, Pruitt seems to keep a tight lid on his football program.

Consider that fact when trying to understand why we were so bad last season.
Yeah, we were sorely lacking in the right kind of leadership under Jones. Looking forward to a renewal of the great spirit and prowess that are enduring hallmarks of Vols Football. It starts September 1.

Besides QB maybe cause we don’t know yet, we are better top to bottom than WV. Just because we had a sorry coach they don’t respect us.

Apparently the RB group practices on the complete other side of the field from the media, so no one really has anything to report

Is anyone knowledgeable enough about these drills to explain what some of them are actually for? By that I mean for example being under the low black ceiling device (sorry I have no idea what they are called) or when they show guys hitting the other man as he jumps in the air with his arms out, or seeing the Linemen kneeling on the ground and pushing up. I see them doing a lot of these same drills and I was just wondering what said exercises are actually meant to instill. Sorry for the crappy descriptions I'm just trying to get a better grasp on what they are learning. I never saw them doing hardly any of this under Lyle.
The ceiling device is a schute. It demands that your hips stay low while exploding out of the stance. This is very efficient because it doesn't waste any motion in an upward direction. Similar to the tackling drill. It emphasizes getting your hips through the tackle. Opposed to just running into someone, you explode on cotact. The lineman drills also reenforce explosion. Think of a coil, when you are back on your calves, on all fours, you have a lot of energy potential. The drill teaches how to explode from this position. Hope that helps!!

He is Mark Haarmons (NCIS on TV) dad. Tom Harmon won three major awards in the 1940 season including the Heisman Trophy. He was quite the all around athlete.
Haha yeah I knew that. Just wanted to make the reference. Pretty sure mark played as well but not as good.
