And, frankly, that is as close to getting a bye in the SEC Tournament as there has been in many, many years because the East #3 opens with West #6 (LSU) and LSU is by far one of the worst teams this conference has seen in ages. In fact, it should be one of the easiest paths to the Semis that there has been in a long time because the winner of East 3/West 6 faces West 2 -- an Arkansas team that got destroyed at home today by Vandy. Assuming we beat Arkansas and Ole Miss beats LSU, the Arkansas/Ole Miss game winner will get that #2 seed and that game is at Arkansas. Ole Miss has lost 5 of their last 8.

Georgia is controlling Florida and is close to blowing them out in the 2nd half. If UGA wins that game and the season ended today, the Vols would get the #3 seed by virtue of having a better record against SEC East teams than Florida. But, the fact is that Florida has Vandy at home and at KY to finish, while we have Arkansas at home and at MSU to finish. There is no way FL is beating KY at Rupp. And I don't see Arkansas beating us at home. Thus, even if the Vols lose at MSU, we are going to get that #3 seed.

Of course, the East #3 seed would get KY (and the Rupperees) in the Semis. Another interesting story-line is that USC is going to be the East #5 and they have played KY well this year. They would likely get KY in the Quarterfinals.

I actually would like to play the Cats again. We played them pretty well the first game, and of course won today. It would be super sweet to beat them in the SECT.

And Chandler Parsons...er, Florida, has made a huge run. It is now a 2 point game. Parsons is putting on an absolute clinic. He is playing as impressive a game as I have seen out of any SEC player this year. Has a 1 handed alley-oop dunk, hitting three pointers, just doing it all.

But even if the Gators pull this one out, the Vols get that #3 seed if we win out and FL loses one of their final 2.

Sounds good, I think we get the 4 or 5 seed in the NCAA tournament if we win the SECT if we don't win the tournament i think we get the 6-8 seed.

With this win and the Kansas win, AND an SEC tourney title, you guys would likely pull a 3 seed, 4 at worst.

If you can just make it a game or two deep in the SEC tourney your going to get a 5, or 6 at worst.

If we're tied with Florida in terms of SEC record, how do we own the tiebreaker? I'm pretty sure Florida is 6-0 against the West, meaning they would have the same East record as us.

We aren't winning the tourney.

Correction: Currently UT and FL have the same number of losses against SEC East competition. But, if UT goes 1-1 to finish and FL goes 1-1 to finish, UT will have 1 less loss against SEC East competition and win the tiebreaker on that basis.

Honestly though, I still think the 4 seed in the east is more favorable to make a run just because we would be playing Vandy in the semis rather than UK. It would also save for a UK-UT championship showdown.

Quite frankly, judging by the way you have played against both teams, I would rather play UK than Vandy in the semi's.

I can't understand how #20 in nation and with wins over #1 and #2 can sink as low as 6 or 8 seed. Maybe before today's game but now I think we should be at least a 5. Going 2 and 2 ( split next two and win one in sec ) we should be 4 or 5. I hope we have big orange nation fill up Brigestone Arena and keep out the mist
