I have to go with the team effort also. They all had their moments, but nobody stands out except maybe Allen and Burnett.........Oh you don't have Allen in there....

it was a team effort but I gotta go with my man Mahelona

i gave it to meachem just bc he came up with some huge plays for us in several games throughout the season. honestly, they all were great and i give the team the award.

The 3 players that made the difference in this team were ALLEN, BURNETT and MAHELONA.

On offense, it was definitely a team effort, but I had to vote for Mahelona just because of what he meant to our D. It was so obvious when he was and was not in the game.

Jason Allen is a close second in my book since he spent the whole season out of position for the good of the team.

There were no superstars on this team... no one was consistent throughout the whole year, but SOMEONE stepped up in just about every situation. Team effort, that's what I like to see. GO VOLS.

I went with Mahelona based upon those that were listed. I'd actually consider splitting that vote with Jason Allen, simply because without those two; this defense would have been in serious trouble. The DL was thin in numbers due to circumstances much beyond the coaches control. The secondary was plain terrible (with the exception of Allen). Once again I'll make my annual complaint about when Coach Fulmer is going to get rid of:

Randy Sanders (seriously, thought this year was his best job and wasn't bad at all)
Jimmy Ray Stephens
Larry Slade
Pat Washington

I know none of this will ever transpire, but at least I feel better now that I've made my annual statement.

Well, I pick Rick Clausen. To go from being a nobody on the 3rd-stringer bench to playing in the SEC Championship takes guts. If the refs hadn't been so biased, he'd have led an upset.

I would say team effort because its so hard to choose just one. First I would say Ainge for obvious reasons, Mahelona because he is our D, and Clausen for coming in and doing an outstanding job for the circumstances!!!!!!!!! B)

I think everything UT does is a team effort; however, If I had single one man out, I would go with Burnett. To me he stepped up to the plate. He was all over the field every game and made really big plays. Go Vols!!!

I have gotta go with the Pineapple Power!

Jesse PLEASE COME BACK FOR YOUR LAST YEAR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ainge, Riggs, Meachum and the offense. They have done something not seen in many years at UT, show up the defense.

I'm gonna go with Ainge. He went in as only a three-star quarter back and looked really good against one of the toughest conferences in the country -- and helped eliminate any doubt about Tennessee's offense after the preseason QB mess.

I voted for Burnett but it's a toss up between him and Allen on D and then throw in Jesse! But every one is forgetting about Omar! And the great job he has done in the place of Kevin Simon! On offense I think that was a total team effort with injuries all over the place!!!

Rob Smith, toughest most dependable lineman on the team.Overall great teamwork most of the year

Another vote for the team effort, but Mahelona was outstanding this year.

I hope he comes back along with Allen.

Good tough question.

On D, Mahelona, Burnett and Allen were the consistent guys. Jesse disappeared but completely understandable - when not distracted for legit reasons - he was a force. Burnett was catching all kinds of crap for being overrated but he showed up every game = our most sure tackler. Allen was outgunned in the secondary but kept fighting. I'm still pissed that they kept saying the Cadillac ran over him for the TD in the SECCG. C. Williams had the angle - it was good blocking and a good hit from Allen; virtually nobody would have stopped Williams at that point. Because of the Ronnie Brown thing they had to say it was another run over; sickening pro-Auburn or hack game analysis - either way it's :bs:

On O, Houston ran consistently hard, Riggs finally showed up and the 3 QBs I thought all were solid.

Looking back at my answer, I guess I'd have to say "much of the team"

My vote definitely goes to the team effort. I don't think I've ever been more proud of our Vols then I have this year.

I live in Georgia and am, therefore, surrounded by idiotic GA fans. Keeping them from making it to ANY championship of ANY kind and getting to play for one ourselves...HAPPINESS FOR ME!!!

If I could, I would tell our 2004 Vols how much fun I had watching them this season and that I can't wait for next year. To our seniors - thanks for wearing the Big Orange and good luck in future endeavors.

I think I may cry now....  :worship: :worship: :yourock:

:cheer: :cheer: :number1:

What did Trooper Taylor do? Wear his hat on backwards, Chest bump, High five, and speak ebonics and act like a total fool every chance he could. I'm sure General Neyland would be oh so impressed with his football knowledge and deft skills of teaching the fundamentals of blocking, tackling, catching. Not to mention his deep understanding of the Game Maxims. What a joke he is. A real proud representative of The University of Tennessee at Knoxville. :( :flush: :shakehead:
