Oh okay. That's not what I got out of it. What I got is that going to football games is a family event and that you should consider yourself lucky that you get to go to the games, regardless of the outcome. That's what I got out of it.
If that's the case, then I disagree even more. Going to the games is a great experience, win or lose, but I don't see how being critical of one guy standing on the sidelines is somehow being disloyal to the T on the side of the helmets. The experience of Tennessee football is a lot bigger than one guy.
Maybe I'm just too surly to be looking at message boards tonight.

I'm no imposter and I'm not troll. But I have up until recently spent a few years out of state. And let me tell you, fans from outside of Tennessee gave me a totally different perspective about what UT is versus the consenus opinion I see here. I had always wondered why there wasn't more fire coming from the Vol fansbase until I came back to Knoxville... wow. And folks, this perception about accepting mediocrity is not just me talking.
It is one thing to be positive and wanting to support your team, but it is a totally different thing to be blinded by orange collored glasses and just blindly supporting the orange and white without looking at the direction the program is headed.
Comparing 05 to 06, it doesn't take a math major to figure out it's heading in the right direction.
That's relative. If we had gone 6-6 or 7-5, that would have been an improvement, also.
But 9-4 with an embarrasing loss to Penn St, and snatching defeat out of the jaws of victory against Florida and LSU at home doesn't feel like we're much closer to moving in the right direction. Also needed late game heroics on the last drive against USC and a late score against Ky to get those wins. Not to mention Air Force. 9-4 could have easily been 7-6.
