No doubt he has elite stuff. But the book is out and he's going to have to adjust.

He'll need to develop another pitch or two. I think he's only throwing fastball and slider right now.

if he develops a change up, he will become a better pitcher. MLB hitters will feast on his fastball. Gotta have the change up and be able to throw it for a strike in any count.

Any update on Moore’s injury?

Sprained left thumb and rolled his wrist is what I’ve read. He did not tear a ligament or suffer an injury that requires surgery.

“It’s pretty much up to my body and how it heals itself,” Moore said. “Hopefully I can be out there in two weeks….”

“I wouldn’t put a timetable on it,” said interim manager Ray Montgomery. “Those things can be tricky, just the nature of the injury. He’s young, he’s encouraged by the non-surgical piece. I’m thinking [his estimate is] looking at best-case scenario.”

Originally diagnosed with strained ligaments in his hand. 15 day disabled list. He had started swinging at balls off a tee about seven weeks later when “discomfort” reared its ugly head. MRIs revealed he actually had a hairline fracture, missed during initial examination due to swelling. Moved to 60 day IL, but that started May 2. Latest reports are encouraging and he should return after the ASG break.

I figured something like that. His numbers are way off.

I figured something like that. His numbers are way off.

He didn’t have a great April either. Accounted for a big part of the Astros slow start, in addition to getting their feet under them without Tucker and Bregman.
