I think he got lucky with Jones and we aren't sure how lucky that is yet. I know nothing about the lady coach. Serrano seemed like a great hire but I don't know how they are doing.

I'm sure, In my mind this is personal for you. Because I think Dave Hart has done an excellent job cleaning the mess make by Hamilton, the athlete department is running in the black.

If you didn't know UT was broke.

Nah not personal but I'm just a fan that has seen 2 hires made that do not match the facilities and resources and fan base we have.. I understand the financial situation and I also understand the vice that Cheek wrenches on to the athletic department. Maybe Hart is doing a great job, I don't know, but somewhere in the university, there is a truckload of incompetence.

Dave Hart is just really good at making UT look like we are settling for our third or fourth choice as head coach.

Warlick earned her shot so that was an easy call and I'm not even sure how much Hart had to do w/ that hire. Agree on Jones, we probably got very lucky considering at best he was our 3rd choice behind Strong and Gundy.

Serrano is a great hire but they are similar to the football team in what they had to rebuild. Plus I'm pretty sure that was Joan Cronans hire before Hart came on.

Is building a baseball team comparable to building a football team? I'm ignorant but it seems that one good recruiting class could build a tournamentournament team.

I'm guessing he's comparing "the dumpster fire" aspect that both programs shared after Dooley and Raleigh, two of the worst coaches in UT history.

What I meant was doing it in probably the toughest conference in the land from basically scratch was always gonna take a few years. Jmo

This is the year! The moment of truth so to speak. AJ, Stewart, Cox, Lee...all juniors now, we finally have some depth with the pitching staff. We have to replace the production of Maddox, Smart and Price as well as replace 2nd and 3rd base defensively...

Compared to where we were three years ago...it's night and day.

I'll believe it when I see. I'm not getting emotionally invested with him until this clears up though.

I will say that it is definitely in our best interest if he is able to stay, and is completely cleared quickly. More turnover is the last thing this program needs.

I disagree. I think hart has improved the Athletic Department by leaps and bounds. He has been ablate get concession from Cheek to improve the stability of the Athletic program and has hired the best possible football we could have gotten. Cheek, on the other hand has improved the acedamic status of our University, but at the expense of our Athletic programs.

I am happy that we have Hart and have no problem if Cheeks hits the road back to Florida or some other place to have them become the next Harvard of the South.

I realize that improved academics can help recruiting and the stature of our University, but other schools have been able to have hight academics and still field National contending sports programs. For that reason. I think we keep Hart and replace Cheek.
