I have a complaint and I also have a comment. Complaint: We are 4 - 0, yet Louisville is ranked ahead of us. Why????????????????? Comment: Should we beat # 7 A & M, we will climb in to the top #5.
The fact Washington and Louisville are still ahead of us and Clemson's win against Louisville didn't jump them ahead of OSU bothers me. That being said we gotta get our stuff together. these first 5 games were exciting to the end that must be said but this crap has to stop.
Looking at all our games had our offense not shot itself in the foot constantly in the first half all these games would have been blowouts. We have left 14-21 points on the field in the first half of EVERY game so far this year. and about 7 in each 3rd quarter.
It looks like its a game of adjustments and something special is happening in the locker room each game at halftime. i get the halftime adjustments by coaches.. Those are awesome and I love it but execution needs to be there from the first kickoff. I love the fact that these guys are not scared to be backed in any corner but against aTm and Bama that won't work. We let one of those teams get up 14 much less 21 in the first half its pretty much over.
Look. We aren't going to the playoffs this year baring another miracle (which seems normal for this team). However, ranking doesn't matter. Win the East. Play for an SEC championship. that is what matters right now. Let the polls be the polls.
It will be interesting to see if Bama goes undefeated and we beat TAMU and then beat Bama for the SEC championship who gets the playoff spot(s). Potentially both of us get in, but I think Bama would get the slot over us if it went down like that.
A one loss SEC champion would be in the playoffs in my opinion
Not likely, imo. Anything can happen in college football, of course, but take a look at the remaining schedules of the teams ahead of us.
All Vols fans know that pollsters favor the Big Ten. Even with one loss, either Michigan or Ohio State will be favored over us.
Louisville is this year's media darling. The only team that has a shot at them the rest of the way, imo, is Houston and I don't see that happening. A one-loss Louisville is already ahead of us in the polls and even though they are likely not even going to make the ACC playoff, pollsters are still going to favor them over us if we have one loss. They already have in the coaches poll.
It looks like Clemson might run the table the rest of the way, including the ACC championship game against what projects to be North Carolina.
Anything can happen, but Washington has nobody left on their schedule that should be a challenge? Oregon? Nope. Cal, maybe, but nope. WSU? Again, maybe, but nope. Besides the media also favors the PAC.
That leaves a one-loss Vols team at no higher than fifth and on the outside looking in.
The Vols are going to have to run the table, imo.
