I think this is a good move, you can't blow leads of 13-14 points in 3 crucial games and not find some fault in the defense. While some may be on the offense for not putting their foot on the opponents throat, defense can't go soft and not blitz. Yes, the defense got better through the year, but the opposition was not as strong either. As stated before many times, it all comes down to who we hire as DC.

It's dumb to roll the dice on an unproven DC in the defining year of your head coaching tenure, that's why. Jancek was a decent DC, so if he fired him just to bring in some unknown commodity it's going to be very disappointing. Too much rides on this upcoming season for the program to gamble like he did with Debord, which admittedly turned out well.

Impressive move by CBJ given the coaching tenure over last 3 coaching stops with Jancek and the closeness of families....both Catholic, both sons same age, graduated from high school together, walk-ons together, etc....

good reminder of what a tough occupation it is....ripples reaching far out.

Seems we are checking on a linebackers coach at Alabama with a rough voice and a penchant for curse words who believes a 3-4 is the way to go.
