I love and miss the scrappers. Juaun Jennings is the most recent guy who seemed to have that mentality. Dale Jones has already been mentioned. Bill Duff, JJ McCleskey, Jesse Mahelona (RIP), Al Wilson, of course.

Tickled to see Al Wilson FINALLY get mentioned. How 'bout Leonard Little, John Henderson, McKenzie brothers, and EB/ERIC BERRY! Lots more as well Scott Wells, Galbreath, I could do this almost all night.

I always thought Horace Morris was Leonard Little before Leonard Little.

When I became a die hard VOLS fan was in the era of Jeff Francis, William Howard and Roland Poles.

When Spurrior arrived in Florida that changed the football landscape for the SEC.

Doug Atkins

An old friend of mine is married to one of Mr. Atkins' granddaughters. When Mr. Atkins was honored at Neyland, my friend surprised me by having this signed. Hangs in a prominate place in my home office. Clips of him in action are something every Vol fan should watch.

I'm going to stick to recent years just for the sake of skipping the easy ones - I miss Eric Berry, Jauan Jennings, Denarius Moore, Jerod Mayo, Omar Gaither, Kevin Burnett, Derek Barnett, James Wilhoit, Donte Stallworth, Josh Dobbs, Erik Ainge, Justin Harrell, Kevin Burnett, Casey Clausen, Jason Witten, Travis Stephens, and for my special pick, Troy Fleming, who I feel could have done a lot more in a different offensive scheme.

Really miss Donte Stallworth. One of the best all around wideouts I've ever seen live in Neyland. Lot of greats, don't get me wrong, but Donte could catch anything anywhere any time. Just fun to watch that guy play.

Eric Berry was something else though. You could just feel opposing offenses avoiding him - it was the damndest thing. I've seen that effect in a lot of games at times, but with Berry it was like a palpable, constant fear. Offenses didn't want to go anywhere near #14. I'm exaggerating of course, but ... not really.
Eric Berry is maybe the only defender that I have been able to notice every play. On any given play, if you followed the ball, you'd see 14. Or if i saw a really great tackle/deflection, I would think "that was probably EB," and I'd be right 90% of the time.

EB
Dobbs
Jauan
Clausen (Miami was my earliest football memory)
Bray, Hunter, Patterson, Da'Rick (5-7 football cant get more fun than that)
