VN should apologize to JG

Watch the replay and see how fast May came in unblocked. Damn boy he could have reached across LOS and touched JG prior to snap. That's why JG didn't want to talk to his azz and Pruitt tugged his facemask. F*#k Pruitt, i'm standing behind the QB on this one regardless. If ever there was a time-out needing to be called it was then as soon as the LB stood at the LOS.
Then you are doubly dumb. This was the cherry on top of another JG "performance"...

So because May "might" have been able to get to sloooooowwww JG before he handed the ball off... it was MUCH better to try to sneak when the OL didn't expect it then toss the ball to a Bama player for a 100 yard fumble return. That's just brilliant thinking there.

After spending a good deal of time analyzing "the play" and seeing various videos this conclusion is thus drawn and it's perfect and revolves around the fact that Jeremy Pruitt the head coach at the university of tennessee will not allow any team member to call a time-out under any circumstance regardless of the situation. First and foremost has a time-out been called by a player that any poster on VN is aware of? I think not and to be more specific Pruitt will not tolerate such. UT was successful in pulling a QB sneak on 1st attempt vs. Ga.St. 2nd attempt not one but 2 ILB's filled the middle gaps. JG, the QB had no choice but to see what was in front of his own eyes yet he ran the called play choosing not to audible out but run said called play. Why didn't a time-out enter his mind? Flash to this Sat. nite vs. Bama and it's 4th down once again. What happened? Ole Nick or Bama's DC must watch game film because as video demonstrates the ILB, (May), filled that gap just like Ga. St. did. A QB has to see this and if many say that called played had Crouch hitting a hole then JG knew immediately that LBer wasn't gonna be blocked and no way possible was that hand-off to Crouch ever gonna occur. There's not but one solution and that's call a time-out. Why hasn't JG done this? Why hasn't anyone done this that plays for UT? You now know the truth. We don't have a football coach. He himself should have known the play was gonna get blown-up and called the time-out himself. Now after reading those 12 pages of posts something still didn't make any sense but when you factor in the fact that Pruitt will not allow a player to take it upon himself to call a time-out at a critical juncture especially a QB serious problems can arise. Is it gonna take a 3rd time? Will Bailey really play here? No wonder our QB's have little confidence. Can't be trusted to call a time-out in a critical situation is f*#king belittling. I'll go 1st JG I'm sorry you had to end up playing for Hitler. I think your a good QB and has tried and you knew the situation Sat. nite. You did try to the best of your ability under the circumstance.
PS Pruitt isn't covering JG's butt...he's covering his own. See if any media boys confront the coach over time-outs
Did you actually understand what you have watched/read? When you are calling an over the top "dive" play, the OL drives straight out low and cuts the legs from under the defense. This makes the height of the leap much lower. On our play, the LG (Smiith) pulled to the left with a perfect kick out block. JG basically jumped right into the hole vacated by the guard. The only problem was, there was an intentionally unblocked defender there. That play was not intended to go over the top. Your assumption that the players are not allowed to call time outs in based on pure opinion and very silly at that. I supported JG even when most did not. His confidence is completely gone and he is extremely gun-shy. He has not grasped the RPO structure of Jim Chaney's offense and continues to make very poor reads and decisions.

This is the bottom line:
1) On a called QB dive, the Oline submarines the Dline to give the QB room to go over the top. No such thing happened. Both lines were standing straight up. JG was NEVER going to make it over the top.
2) On a called QB dive, the fullback and tailback push the QB. No such thing happened. The fullback helped seal the left side. Crouch stepped left, indicating that the play call was not a sneak/dive, but a handoff/pitch left behind Trey.
3) Trey pulled and crushed the defender, sealing the outside, creating a hole for the tailback to run thru (Crouch would've been untouched), indicating that the play call was not a sneak/dive, but a handoff/pitch left behind Trey.
4) As I said, Crouch is stepping left when he realizes JG kept the ball, indicating the play was behind Trey.
5) In a replay of Pruitt confronting JG (at 6:28 left in the game), he says two things that we can read (lips) before he turns his back to the camera (following JG to continue to chew him out) which were, " ... the F are you doing?" (throwing both hands out), and (pointing with his left hand) "Who told you to run the F'ing sneak?"
6) After the facemask tug, Weinke is saying, "What did you even call? What were you ..." interrupted by Pruitt, as he continues to chew JG out.
7) Coach accepted the blame in his post game presser, rather than throwing him under the bus, like Butch would've.

There is no way to defend JG. He went rogue. No one in the stadium knew he was keeping the ball but himself.

I can't believe you woke up at 6am and this was your first concious, waking thought.

It's Pruitt's fault for even haven JG on the field for that series... should have had Jennings or Crouch in the wildcat on 1st and goal at the 2yd line.

K-Town is that you buddy?...You hiding again?

Pruitt's major blame is he didn't bring in a transfer when he was hired to replace JG. JG has shown time and time again he is not SEC talent. I wish the best for him in life. Just rather not see him behind center at UT any longer.

STFU. Pruitt had the right play called and it would’ve worked had his QB not went brain numb and tried to jump over the pile. God it’s painful to watch that disaster of a play. It was 100% on JG.

That was the original call but because the LB crept into the gap that play was blown. No way under any circumstance does JG make that hand-off. He had no choice other than a time-out. Confront Pruitt over that shat?
So you are saying JG had the balls to run a completely different play but didn’t have the balls to call a TO because his coach said not to do so? Literally, that makes zero sense.

YOU STFU...! JG wouldn’t FU if he was on the bench. That’s Pruitt’s fault for giving him the chance to FU.

I’m not a JG fan but you seem to forget he did manage to get us to the goal line. If Shrout is in, I seriously doubt we even get there.

Again, it’s NOT Pruitt’s fault JG went rogue.

OP should apologize to Volnation for taking our time when we read this stupid post.

T-bone,

Phil Fulmer is on your trail. He has already submitted this evidence to the NCAA. When Phil is finished, all the championships will be gone and you will be rolling the Saban statue into storage. Just like Penn State did with the Joe Paterno statue.

The good new for Bama: Since Nicky is a midget, the statue won't take up much room in storage.
