So serious question here.
Some of the people that I have seen and heard say "Pay him to stay" are also people that rail on Danny White for "Milking every penny".
What would you, as a fan, be willing to shell out to keep CTV?
Increased ticket prices?
Charging for certain amentias at Lindsey-Nelson such as better wifi, better seats, better concessions, premium parking, etc.?

Just trying to get a picture from "the average - pay no more, pay no less" fan to "pay at all costs" fan.
I know in football, it's a lot different - just go browse that forum 🤣

I subscribe to Dish network, buy my gas at flying J and my groceries at Food City, I’m giving my all for Tennessee, already.

I agree with this. People on here and in real life complain about the costs of tickets going up and all of that but also say we should pay the players more to compete in recruiting and build a bigger stadium and on and on. The money has to come from somewhere and the easiest place is through ticket prices going up. We want larger seats but don't want to pay twice as much. We want nicer things in the stadium but don't raise the prices. We want more concessions and nicer concessions but don't raise concession prices. You can't have one without the other.
I don't like the prices going up and I'm sure at some point I will not pay it but I fully understand it. People also complain about tickets being put on ticketmaster but when people try to sell them for close to what they can on ticketmaster they are considered a bad person. So they go to ticketmaster where no one complains just pays the price.

People complain in forums. Is this really breaking news? NIL money doesn’t come from ticket prices. I’ve gladly paid $$ at baseball NIL events and signings to support that. No complaint.
I think most people get that through improvements and success, prices go up.
I’ve never complained about the price of a ticket on the secondary market. Is that really a thing on this forum.
Concession prices? $15 for a canned beer? Come on man.

Don’t even get me started on the digital tickets...

How much would I pay directly to the baseball program for retaining coaches and players? Maybe an extra urinal or two or new seats? A hell of a lot more than I pay now (and I'm 5X-ed at this point on what I'm paying). [I've went so far as to offer to pay for new physical seats after I found the company online a couple weeks ago, got crickets in response]...

How much would I pay to some non-specific pot in a department stuffed with $200K+ AADs and projects galore for MORE 'premium' areas.... not so much.

Basilio has heard he’s in Cali today.

Just passing along info. Don’t kill me because you hate the source.

He could be in California for a ton of different reasons though. The only thing I disagree with is Basilio’s implication it’s to discuss the managerial opening. If he knows that, then say it. Probably more likely a recruiting trip.

I'm glad this thread is simply titled MLB Rumor so we can just reuse it every time this comes up. So far it's never been in any credible form. It's just been suggestions by media folks. Wake me up when someone says there is mutual interest. It's not just that you don't see college coaches make that jump, it's just that Tony has stated his goals before and he wants to win as many as Coach K did at Duke. I thought it was ambitious when he said it, because he hadn't won one yet, but he's stacking top classes, killing the portal and the guy has made commitments to all those kids. We know Tony is loyal. He may not be many things, but it does seem he's that.

He could. Basillio didn’t start the rumor or TV being connected to this opening.
This is the cost of having the best coach in college baseball. The issue is that Tony’s greatest advantages afford him zero advantage in MLB. Tony’s best quality is recruiting and that has no translation into the pros.

At this point, I can’t tell if Tony is actively trying to get an MLB job or if this is The Athletic simply trying to drive clicks from our rabid fanbase on their articles. I think it’s most likely just clickbait.
