I was wondering since we are playing Virginia tomm why we have never played them much in basketball or football. We share a border with them and seems like we would’ve played those guys more in our recent history than we have and could’ve developed a little rivalry with them. Anyway i will hang up and listen. For some reason I thought we played them in 2006 but that was the tourney we lost to Wichita State when George Mason made their run to the Final 4. I remember thinking had we just beaten Wichita St, we go to Elite 8 when George Mason upset UNC

Only played them 3 times in total in the big 3 sports that I can recall:

Destroyed them 49-13 in football in 2023
The R32 victory in 2006
Played them in Omaha in the CWS in 2021 (lost 6-0, Andrew Abbott was lights out that day)

Tomorrow will be the 4th meeting

Yes he did. We came back from 16 points down i believe and Tony went over the top for the game winning touchdown.

You know I legit forgot about that game Didn't we beat them in that ballroom tournament around Thanksgiving or something? They were so bad last year that I didn't even remember beating them!

We played them in the 2007 Sweet 16. They uhad Oden, Conley and a guard, can't remember his name, who were high level players. They were the 1 seed in the regional. We beat their asses for about 30 min of that game. They came back from 17 to beat us in the last ten minutes. As bad as the UK collapses were this year, it pales to a 1 seed in the tournament.

Because they suck. A LOT. They've made a bowl game just over 50% of my life (their 1st was my birth year). TN gains nothing by playing them.

We lost a couple of NCAAT games and a football homecoming to them in the early 80’s, all very disappointing results.

I was looking at the history of us playing them in basketball and saw there was a matchup in 2012 where the score was 38-46! We lost! Again, I repeat it was a basketball game not a football game! We even had players like Josh Richardson and Jordan McCrae on the team.

Lost a car down there during Mardi Gras in ‘86. Found it in the parking garage, exactly where I left it. Wednesday morning, I called into work to report, and a co-conspirator in crime, clued me in.

Wasn't that the Death of Elvis show, where they re-enacted Elvis dying on the toilet? UVA used to have a scramble band who barely played music and did sophomoric humor, but they've since been replaced.
