I was there as well on Tuesday for the practice rounds, saw many Power Ts and was quite surprised. I wasn't expecting so many fellow vols fans to be there.

Thanks to all who commented on my son's pic. Another cool story, but much, much older. I'm a million years old.

I caddied as a kid, Westmoor Country Club, Brookfield WI. Anywhere from $3-$3.75 a round, tip dependent. I go in the Navy at 17, land in Hawaii, and read they are looking for caddies at the first Hawaiian Open. So I sign up. I draw Squirmin' Herman Weidermeyer, former All-American tailback at St. Mary's, then a top amateur in Hawaii, a state senator and played Duke on the original Hawaii 5.0. He said in a newspaper article, "I played so bad my caddy bought me a beer after the round."
True story. You can't make that up. Gay Brewer beat Bob Goalby in a playoff and I was there because Squirmin' Herman missed the cut. Two years later, Brewer won the Masters. Look it up.

We had the option of taking our cell phones back to the car, or they would keep them in a safe place. We chose to leave them in the car. However, you can take a camera in Monday-Wednesday if it does not tape .

You would have to find one that used film, to find a camera that did not also tape nowadays. They started using SD cards 20 years ago, that could store small video clips.

Heck. My girl's $20 "play" camera can shoot video.

But I am sure it is an experience. Having all of those people walking the cart paths, not texting.

a buddy of mine lived in Augusta at one point. He said the rule of thumb is NEVER rent your house to Sergio. It will be destroyed

That's because Sergio is a world class douche. He's easily one of the most disliked, if not most disliked player on the tour.

Good to see all the Orange and Power T's at Augusta National today. Well represented.. been a while since I heard, and said, "Go Vols" so much at a non UT event.

GBO.

Is this you Jake?

It is such a cool place, but I would never go on a Sunday. On Sunday, I want to see the action and golf is a tough arena to "see" the action.

My favorite time to be there is Friday afternoon seeing the last groups come in on 18. You know the cut line...or have a really good idea and seeing the sun set on the last groups is just a special moment.

Such great stories! My mother used to score (clean up your minds; she's a nice Southern lady, pushing 90) at various tournaments, including for Tom Weiskopf, Lee Trevino, Gary Player, and (hold your hats) Arnold Palmer.

She tearfully gave up her 60-year allegiance to Arnie after finding that he used Bad Language, but she will always hold a primly warm spot in her heart for Lee.

In the interim, she plowed along on a number of great tournaments, rubbing elbows with the greats in her endlessly innocent way.

a question for you fellow Masters visitors. My son says to me that he's seen a bunch of Snapchat photos from Augusta National and asked how that could happen since no one is allowed to bring in cell phones. My first guess was they took a pic with a camera then uploaded but he threw that one out since you must have the app to upload a pic and those are on cells. Since all I know is Facebook I have no idea.

I'm from Augusta and have been a couple times. If you are from the area, there's going to be someone you know who has tickets. Not bragging, but just wanted to chime in. I'm not a golf fan in the least, but it is one of the coolest experiences I've had. They are incredibly strict on people bringing in phones and other electronic devices thurs-sunday, and because of that, no one is attached to a screen. It's like going back in time.

They will not let cellphones in period. If you do happen to sneak one past the metal detectors/security, you best never pull it out. You get caught with one, you are escorted immediately to the gate and your ticket (practice rounds) or badge (tournament) is confiscated. Whomever the actual owner of the ticket/badge is then blacklisted and will never receive any in the future. They do allow traditional cameras during the practice rounds (Monday - Wednesday).

They do have a special booth where you can just check them before going through security.

While I agree you get to see more of the action on TV, there is still nothing like hearing the roars reverberate across the course on Sunday afternoon when something amazing happens. Sometimes you are even lucky enough to witness it.

You simply save the digital pic from your camera to your PC, then copy the pic to your phone.

Been there one time, back in 2010. Went on Sunday. Stood right behind Phil as he hit that incredible shot on 13. Walked over to 15 and watched Tiger hole out for eagle. It's honestly one of the prettiest places I've ever been. Not a blade of grass out of place. Hope I get lucky enough to go back again.

To ultimately prove my point...and yours to some degree, a buddy of mine was at the '05 Sunday round and called me when he got to his car after the conclusion of play. His 1st question was, "What happened around 15-16?" Well, of course, it was Tiger's chip in on 16.

Ft Gordon is home to the Signal Corps and from my understanding, it's fairly easy for Signaleers to find a way into Augusta National for both practice rounds and the tournament. Me? I pick the red headed step child Signal MOS that has zero affiliation to Ft Gordon and still dream of the day I can make it to The Masters.

I've been to two us opens. & they're great.

But when I was walking down 13 and it hit me... that's where Phil hit "the" shot...you can't do that at any other major.

Really cool place.
