Vacation Rentals by Owner

I have used vrbo twice now, both with savings of a couple hundred dollars below local rental agencies. I'm sold.

Yeah I have no vested interest in that website at all just wanted to pass it along for those that may not have used it before. I mean getting a nice room at a nice hotel in Myrtle Beach a couple of weeks after Labor Day for $196 for the entire week - taxes and cleaning included - just blew me away.

I've saw other good prices on there before but nothing that rivaled that. The same room here in high season is close to $700/week. That might sound high but if you actually book the same type of room (1 bedroom, oceanfront) through the hotel itself for the week it would cost you $1,150. That's still a $450 savings for the week right there.

For the week of September 19th - 26th the hotel rate would be $575 for the week. Oh, that's not including tax either so my savings that week comes out to close to $450 for the week. That's plenty of extra grocery, food, and gas money.

I've used it for cabins in Mentone, AL and North Georgia.

i justed used vbro to rent a cabin in the russian river area with it's own boat, dock, and jacuzzi. it was barely more expensive than a hotel in the area.

So did you do Louisville or Savannah?

I've used them a couple of times. We booked one in Clearwater beach and it wasn't what was advertised. We called the owner and he gladly let us out of the deal with a full refund. The other time was great.

I got married on the day of the Wyoming game. Saw the final score about 30min before the service. At least I had something to cheer myself up

Nice, I got married on that day too. At that point in the season, I just had a good hearty laugh.
