have we seen an instance of a collegiate gm success yet?We are likely going to have to pay way more than Ohio State to get Hiter, just like we probably did with Sanders, etc., and that is one of our biggest problems right now. If Huepel would hire a GM and quit just promoting GAβs on the offensive side and hire the best available position coaches, we would bring in a whole lot more talent for our money. Instead we have to overpay and put all our NIL eggs in just a few baskets.
Side note: I feel a lot better about Sims than some of the other guys on the offensive side.
Iβm probably more adamant about replacing some of the guys on the offensive side with ace recruiters. Outside of a few programs, I think we are in that next tier $-wise and there is not a whole lot of difference between us and all the others in that tier. All things roughly equal $, itβs gonna come down to old fashioned recruiting.have we seen an instance of a collegiate gm success yet?
Depends on the school. Some schools are making those hires and they report to the AD or a deputy responsible for football. Others report to the HC. Steven Ruzic, Scott Altizer and some others currently collaborate to fill that role for vol football.I don't think that is hire to make. DW's one would assume.
Not the same in collaboration vs the position as a GM. All comes down to the authorization of the position, who their boss is as a result of the hire. The GM position is to take the load and responsibility off of the HC and some of the accountability. He stills answers to the AD in the end and will be accountable. I don't know why Tennessee has not authorized the slot or gone to it.Depends on the school. Some schools are making those hires and they report to the AD or a deputy responsible for football.
