'26 VA RB Savion Hiter (Michigan commit)

The problem is that even with Keys, we will still be 4-6 in SEC recruiting.
That ain't good enough. Ceiling at that rate is 9 wins with a 10 win season every 3-4 years depending
on our schedule.

If wins and losses were awarded based solely on recruiting rankings then sure, maybe.

But even then we won’t play every team ranked ahead of us every season.

As in if we got Hiter, we somehow would have lost Lewis?

No, I don’t think that’s the case.
No

As in, if we landed Hiter, and Lewis started over him because of his experience and rising performance, Hiter very well may transfer or become a locker room problem. Windows of playing time and opportunity are not what they used to be nor is the strategy of roster management.

So then you would have never wanted Hiter to begin with.

Nah, not me. Bring me the best we can get.

Not sure if it’s already been mentioned in here but AP said Hiter’s final number ended up being north of a million dollars.

That’s a lot of money to spend elsewhere whether it be on Keys, other flips or the portal next off-season.
I mean if it’s between getting an elite RB for elite money or getting an elite Oline for elite money. You take the second option.

I believe Tennessee has ended up top 5 in the Power 5 schools, for rushing yards since CJH has been our coach. Each and every year. I thought we were getting Hiter but if his number was 1 million, we can use that on someone else and get really really good production from another RB who requires less money. The juice isn’t worth the squeeze for 1 million.

He is the number 1 RB for a reason. No doubt. I would love to have the kid and maybe he reconsiders and chooses the Vols. Mom wants that money now. Understandable.
Why do we feel like it's ok to just run with stuff like this. Not factual. But we throw it around like it doesn't matter what the truth is. Mom forcing her son to commit to a school because it means more money for the family is not what happened in this recruitment. Great family. It was a close tough decision. Both NIL offers were very lucrative.

So you know the family personally? Please enlighten us. All the noise is he was paid higher than 1 million. While no one can know what the family actually thinks, it was obvious the mom was excited about Michigan. But I’m waiting to hear all the inside family information that you know.

I know what has been reportedly by reputable sources. I also have some info from someone who has some info that doesn't report it on message boards.

But the bigger picture is that you validated exactly what I was implying in my post. So you didn't know anything specifically. You saw some reports that he got a large NIL and that mom continued to communicate with Michigan. You then took that very limited info and turned it into "mom wants her money now." Again, he is a good young man from a very good family. Painting mom as some money grabber using her son to get a bag is just not true. I know it might make some fans feel better about themselves to paint her as the reason for your angst. And if we aren't concerned about truth then go ahead and knock yourself out if it makes you feel better.
