'26 VA OL Darius Gray

Don’t think we win here.

1)LSU has done a great job recruiting him; we have as well to make it close.
2)LSU and some other schools will pay him through the nose and offer him a chance at OT. I think we’re willing to pay but idk that the deal or opportunity is going to “look” as good.

Agreed. LSU (and other schools) have a much bigger need for Gray as the one of the last remaining elite OL prospects left uncommitted. They will be willing to shell out more and promise more than we can. I'm sure we're competitive on NIL, but we aren't desperate. If Gray comes here, I would be surprised if it's because we've handed him the biggest NIL deal.

Just reading the tea leaves here. I don't have any inside knowledge.

I want him but there’s only so much cash you can put into an interior lineman.
I noticed when Blair went another direction, it seems as if that's when we went from fading with Gray to back in the mix. I would imagine any money that was allotted for both Gray and Blair is solely dedicated to Gray now. Have no clue if this is the case or not. But something changed and got us back in the mix.

To some degree, that can happen. But from the big picture you can't operate that way. If you pay an OG more than your OT just because you have the money available then you cause other issues. Dominoes.

Yep. Would be the shock of shocks for him to choose us. He's a corn dog fan until he's not.

Maybe. But, his Virginia family could more easily get to his games in K-town, than South Louisiana. 🤔

Not to mention that Brian Kelly gives off vibe of someone trying to sell you an interval ownership. 🤨
