I did not cover camp tonight since I am on vacation, but I did touch base with 2026 top-50 OL Darius Gray. Tennessee is his favorite right now, and the camp setting helped solidify that more. He has been high on the Vols since visiting in November. He was also here in the spring and is already planning another trip for the fall.

He sang high praises about his early relationship with Glen Elarbee and the staff in the OL room and the overall atmosphere at Tennessee.

“I loved the way I got coached,” Gray told Volquest of what stood out about the camp. “I loved the way that I got taught. They added some things for your ankles that I had never seen before, so I was able to learn some things today. Last time I saw them practice, I saw their push-pull techniques, and I was able to do that today. I was able to do a lot of things today, that I saw them practice on in the spring. I really enjoyed my time, and they definitely coach well.”
“The people without a doubt,” Gray said of this. “The love for this place is there for me and my family, so we want to keep coming back as much as we can and be around it.”
Gray has built a strong relationship with multiple members of Tennessee’s staff, especially Glen Elarbee and assistant offensive line coach Kevin Pendleton.

“That’s the thing, it is a combination with all of them,” Gray said of this. “I really enjoy talking to every single one of them. Their personality is definitely what stands out the most. You want to surround yourself with those types of people.”

2026 OL Darius Gray announced on Thursday that he would visit for the UTEP game. This has been the plan for some time, and this will be a big visit for the Vols. They think highly of the elite interior prospect and need to offset some of the momentum South Carolina has picked up with him this fall. The Vols are very much in the top portion of this recruitment and will get a chance to show well later in the month during Gray's third visit this calendar year.

As we relayed last week in the war room, this is a big visit for Darius Gray. Tennessee gained some momentum here back in the summer, but South Carolina has done an excellent job with him this fall and appears to be the favorite at this stage. This weekend will offer the Vols more of a chance to spend time with him and reiterate how much of a priority he is to them. This is a visit he has been excited about for some time.

Anybody got a sub? Would love to hear how the visits went for Morris, Campbell, Gray, etc.

They all went well. Coaches told them their priorities. Showed them how they’d be used. Felt like family. Environment was “lit.” Tennessee definitely near the top.

I haven’t read anything about their visits but they always say something similar to this.
