'26 VA OL Darius Gray

Very long arms - that’s good for an O lineman right?

To be that quick and be able to jump like that at 290lbs makes him an exceptional athlete. No wonder he is a 5*...imagine him pulling at Guard and running that fast. Absolutely obliterate Dlinemen. I played DE through junior high...getting earhole shot by pulling guards really hurts. Like getting hit by a car you never saw coming because your eyes are on setting the edge and reading the keys from the QB and RB. This guy will destroy DEs and LBs on running downs with that level of quickness. Really hope we get him. He has the opportunity to come play on an Oline with at least 2 other 5* guys at Tackle as well as others. We could have the best Oline in FBS and the best QB at the same time. With Hiter, the best RB also. Thats at least 1 national championship with our stout defense.

Lets go VOLS. So excited.

Main criticism of this staff was recruiting and development of high school talent at the Oline position. Sanders last year and if we somehow get this guy….:
Don't forget Osenda, man. 5 star on 247 and an absolute mammoth human being. He's like 6'8" 340 and still has a baby face. He's going to be an absolute monster after a few years in the weight room

From what I've heard locally, Darius is open to playing center. He's a take no matter what imo. Tennessee should be in the top 5, along with OSU and Michigan. PSU is a dark horse in this one.
Do you know if we have the money to match any offer? Like is it "we demand to sign this guy" or is it "we really want this guy"

I thought the last I heard PSU was considered the favorite for Gray.

I have no idea on the financial side of things. Was referring to a previous comment about the possibility of the class being full. If he wanted to commit, we'd take him.

Yeah I mean, definitely, if they want to commit to the offer we have given. But money's tight around Tennessee since we have so many good teams to allocate funds towards, and you can't blame a kid or coaching staff for when a whopper of a payout is put infront of the player.
