V Bell's coach on Ainge's show this morning

BS! it wasn't a "business decision" It was a 17 year old prima donna pouting because CDD sucked and didn't pay him enough attention. This was "crybaby payback" period...cutting his nose off to spite his face. Brilliant. Now he's going to be a long way from home, on a team that's on probation, that gets ***** slapped by the SEC on a regular basis.

How can you possibly blame an elite player for picking a school that just went undefeated with a 2 time national championship coach?

I don't think you can say you grew up a VOL fan and go to a different school. If UT didn't win a game till my son was 18 and he was a 5 star he would be at UT. Your skills will show on the field and if you are good enough you will get drafted. If he did not like Dooley that reason was gone since he got fired.

Vonn said in an interview with Fox Sports Next that he could't wait 2 years to win a national championship. He felt like OSU will win sooner.

IMO, he'll wait longer than that. If anybody could stop the streak, it would be Urban, but the SEC is just too strong, and getting stronger.

Happens to listen to the Erik Ainge show this morning and wants to relay an update on what was said related to Vonn Bell and the "Truth" about his decision it'd be greatly appreciated. Thanks a bunch!

Doesn't matter and we are not suppose to mention his name anymore! CDD isn't here anymore either so what does that matter? The player that I'll never mention again wasted our new staff's time and MONEY!

:spank:

Tennesseeduke

He still looked like Urkel in that outfit and suspenders. What is going to be funny is he goes up there and never starts. Just because he has a 5* beside his name does not mean nothing once you get to college. If he came to Tn did not mean he would start here either. Tn have seen their share of 5* busts. Tn will be fine without Urkel. Let him go and would surprise me if he last 4 years at OS.
Nothing is a guarantee once you get to college.

Look folks. When your symbol looks like that kinda plant, it's hard to keep kids at home.

And he'll find out, just like Tressel did....mess with the best (SEC) and you go down like the rest!

troll much ?

there is no proof that he will go to OSU or Tn and start.because he has a 5* beside his name does not mean s&it once you get to college. You will never find a post where I was all giddy over this kid or said we had to have him.
I could careless where he went to college.

While I agree that DD didn't pursue him enough, it's illogical to blame it on DD. CUM came to the party relatively late too. Bell said he only has 4 years and the condition of OSU program under Meyer is a known entity while UT is still behind in winning games, going to bowl games and possible national championships. Bottom line-felt safer over the next 4 years in Columbus than in Knoxville.

I hate it but I think that's the deal.

What part of what you said does not scream it's DD's fault, most notably the winning games part?

I think that OSU will find it difficult to win the Big 10 year in and year out. More so than what people may believe. Michigan is coming back under Hoke and Penn State under O'Brien will as well. (The rest of the teams are pretty much jokes with the occasional good year or two thrown in). But, the biggest reason that I think Meyer will have more trouble than most think is that the weather in Big 10 country is not a great fit for speed based teams. When the mud is 6 inches deep and the wind, rain, sleet and/or snow is blowing and it's 7 degrees with a windchill of -10, the big sloggers seem to do better than the speed guys. JMO.

Agreed. The coach is primarily working on his own image so that the UT fan base doesn't ostracize him and his program while providing cover for Vonn.

Vonn and family deserve OSU and CUM. Got to admit they are being smart about it. With the BCS playoff he will be a shot at it while playing in a less competitive league. The media hounds of ESPN will be all over it giving them/him props.

But that loved the Vols crap is BS.

Not trying to stir it up but by this thinking we never would have landed Peyton Manning...Ole Miss just didnt offer the thing Peyton needed at the time and UT did...so a business decision was made, we get Peyton, and as they say the rest is history....I certainly understand Bell's thinking BUT-- Vonn Bell, you sir are no Peyton Manning but I hope it works for you there anyways..

Yeah I'm kinda coming from this angle as well...heck, lets face it...had they not been on probation they would have played ND for the championship and Bama and the SEC would have been on the outside looking in...other than not going to UT its kinda hard to find fault with his decision...

Vonn who?

CBJ. You wanted to be a Volunteer. All you need to do is coach up the young men that wanted to be Volunteers.

1. The team that makes the fewest mistakes will win.

2. Play for and make the breaks and when one comes your way - SCORE.

3. If at first the game - or the breaks - go against you, don't let up... put on more steam.

4. Protect our kickers, our QB, our lead and our ball game.

5. Ball, oskie, cover, block, cut and slice, pursue and gang tackle... for this is the WINNING EDGE.

6. Press the kicking game. Here is where the breaks are made.

7. Carry the fight to our opponent and keep it there for 60 minutes.

CBJ, IMO, will have Rocky Top Rocking once again with the players that WANT to be here.

If that's the case, he should have signed with Alabama. I guess he doesn't know that they have won The National Championship 3 out of the last 4 years. Was he under a rock down there? :salute::salute:

It's funny that anyone would fall for that line of crap--especially from Durban Cryer. I could have understood him going to Bama with that philosophy, but not OSU. Bama would have beaten OSU just as bad as they beat ND.

Urbie won't have the success at OSU that he had at Fla--he ain't got the speed nor the hosses--and he ain't got TIM TEBOW. Fla got a lot of guys who wanted to play with Tebow--just like we got a lot of guys in the 90s who wanted to play with Shuler and Manning. Braxton Miller is good, but not Tebow good--I don't care how he tries to sell him. And 2013 is do or die for Durbie...after this year, Durbie won't ever make it into the playoff. :salute:
