Happens to listen to the Erik Ainge show this morning and wants to relay an update on what was said related to Vonn Bell and the "Truth" about his decision it'd be greatly appreciated. Thanks a bunch!

13-14mo process choosing schools and establishing relationships

had given up on UT

VB’s coach- CBJ and staff were impressive

Family went on UT OV just to appease Vonn but came away very impressed

Hard for the coach to get a return phone call from Knoxville (Dooley’s staff)

locked in decision on Tues night between UT and OSU

Vonn's dad said it was an "amazing visit" to UT and really changed their view of UT in just one weekend

So by the sound of it ... it all falls on Dooley. It sounds like Butch and staff did all they could to lure him to Knoxville. I wonder how great a class Tennessee could have had if they got rid of Dooley sooner.

Vonn said in an interview with Fox Sports Next that he could't wait 2 years to win a national championship. He felt like OSU will win sooner.

that was definitely the impression I got. Said CBJ made up a whole lot of ground with the entire Bell family in a very short amount of time

Bottom line, Dooley didn't recruit him.

Lol. When has the Big 10 won a NC? 2003? Vonn was 7 or 8 years old.....

Look as a recovering "Dool-aide Drinker", everything I've heard from this kid, the family, and reporters is that Derek Dooley gets 100% blame when it comes to that miss. The very fact that CBJ could get a hat on the table as a legitimate candidate after the train-wreck he inherited on this particular recruit tells me that CBJ CAN RECRUIT.

his coach said Vonn felt like OSU had the pieces in place already to compete on a national level. Picking UT would have been an emotional choice while picking OSU was a business one

hard to disagree

Dooley even said on ESPNU yesterday that he has never even seen Bell play. That is a coach that has no idea what he is doing.

With the way things are in today's game (goal is to get to the pros) it's going to be HARD to get ANY 5 star recruit on a team with a losing record.

Just how it is.

Give them time to crawl out of the $h1thole we have been put into by the worst coach in college history.

2 years we should see a turn around. This aint gonna happen overnight boys.

Edit: Let me ammend this statement by saying, John Gruden would have been a totally different story IMO. :)

OSU is definitely in a better position then we are right now but I don't see them winning a NC. I don't see anyone outside the SEC beating bammer.

If Dooley was indeed the reason he didn't choose the VOls then what did they expect UT to do? We fired him... Did they expect us to crucify him and drag him throught the streets of Knoxville? This is an excuse! No self admitted VOL fan would forsake his self admitted childhood team because of a coach that was freakin fired! He trolled the University, the coaches, the fan base and his own community.

Vonn Bell is a CUM worshiper that bought his bag of bull shat. We need to forget this punk.

Agreed. The coach is primarily working on his own image so that the UT fan base doesn't ostracize him and his program while providing cover for Vonn.

Vonn and family deserve OSU and CUM. Got to admit they are being smart about it. With the BCS playoff he will be a shot at it while playing in a less competitive league. The media hounds of ESPN will be all over it giving them/him props.

But that loved the Vols crap is BS.

Is there any way we can take a permanent marker and black out the last 4 or 5 years.?

The coach said going to osu was a business decision? BS. After college or the NFL a player still has a life. Being loved by the state school of your home state means valuable contacts for that time. Contributing to a school from another state is nowhere near as useful.
