UT's most embarrassing defeats?

Don't really get why the UK loss this year is viewed so embarrassing? More for how the Vols played than the actual opponent? I feel like no matter what some UT fans will just always think UK is terrible and deserves to lose by 50. But UK was a fringe top 25 team on paper with a lot of returning players. The first couple games we looked sluggish and were trying to adjust to a new offense post Bowden/Snell years. But honestly on paper I thought we matched up decent against UT. For once Kentucky didn't "Kentucky" themselves and instead it was UT killing themselves.

This year's loss is way less embarrassing than the Ga St or whatever year UK won with a wr at qb. Just my two cents though.

Dont come on here telling us how to feel, your program is absolute dog sh!t. Pruitt committed a deadly sin and lost to UK at home in a blow out. Hands down it was embarrassing, UT got blown out at home by a crap program with a QB you could argue is worse than JG.

Hard to believe but losing to Florida State in 58 was pretty embarrassing. They were only 10 years away from being a girls school and that was their first win over a SEC team.

I'll throw my hat into this game....1975 North Texas State and 1979 Rutgers...I broke my hand punching a chair during that Rutgers game lol

I stopped the Macon Telegraph by the way. After UGA beat us, I said "we won the first half". All I heard was we gave you a TD on that snap.
After Bama stomped them, all I heard was we (UGA) won the first half. Typical UGA response.

It is embarrassing and it's a pride thing, we haven't loss to KY at home since 1984. And sorry to burst your bubble but KY is not a top 25 team/program. On paper you don't match up with UT. Tennessee with a competent QB drills KY 10 times out of 10. You have a pretty good coach but your program is not top 25, and probably never will be.

I stopped the Macon Telegraph about 3 years ago. That paper is flat out terrible. They got rid of all the local people and turned it into a high school version of USA Today.

I agree. The performance may have been disappointing, but this is clearly not the Kentucky football program of old.

UK was 1-2 on the year, next to last in passing the SEC and we hadn't lost to you all at home since 1984........with that being said, it's not like this was some competitive game where we lost late and the game was close. We got blown off the field by a middling SEC team...which we are as well....but we lost to UK by more than we lost to UGA.

Frankly, if you get beat bad by UK, you should shut your program down or fire every coach involved.

JG has a higher ceiling but JG obviously played a million times worse. I don't understand what he was seeing on Saturday because historically he played some of his best games against UK before.

Anyway, sorry you feel that way. Was trying offer a different perspective. I think a few of you are a tad too prideful to consider a differing opinion.

It was bad but how is losing to Kentucky at home worse than losing to Wyoming?

Not really lol I mean Kentucky is getting a lot of national praise and has been for 3 years. This isn't 2002 and the trajectory of the programs have been going 2 different way for over 5 years. Btw you don't need to act like a fool. Its football. Calm down baby boy.

Kentucky nearly won last year without throwing any legitimate passes would you have fired everyone then? They have the highest graded o line, running backs, secondary, and 2 highest graded defensive players in the country. Its not like they are Vanderbilt. The series is 2-2 in the last 4 years and thats likely how it will be for a long time. Theres just not much separation with the middling SEC programs (UT, UK, A&M, Missouri, South Carolina, Auburn, Ole Miss, and Miss St) anymore.

Kentucky is not a good football team and Pruitt/ JG continue to embarrass this once proud program

And yet with all that, they couldn't beat Auburn or Ole Miss? Are you excusing a 27 point loss to KY?
