Those Auburn-KY and Ole Miss-KY games were close. Like I said there won't ever be any separation between these programs. You are gonna win some and lose some anymore. Plus 2 years ago they blew out a 10 win UK team when they were better. You just never know. And yet with all that, they couldn't beat Auburn or Ole Miss? Are you excusing a 27 point loss to KY?
We can agree to disagree theres a reason they have the 2 highest graded defensive players in the country and the highest graded o line as well as the 19th ranked defense.Trash program
Even UK’s better teams should not blow us out in Neyland Stadium. Especially considering the talent differential.
Pruitt wants to take our program to the next level? Start with the teams you’re supposed to beat first.
Kentucky isn't even top 10I know VN can add more but here is four that standout to me:
1) Chattanooga 1959 (my first UT game).
2) Georgia State 2019.
3) Kentucky 2020.
4) Wyoming (forgot the year).
Guess who was the HC for two of those games.

Theres only one program that any of the middling programs should beat every year in the SEC.
Why is Alabama 1990 seen as such a bad loss by so many? It was before my time, and looking at their schedule that year they didn’t seem to be horrible.Kentucky isn't even top 10

No I'm not saying that I'm just saying people have to honest with themselves about the standing of the programs in the SEC. Things have changed over the previous 2 decades. So it’s unrealistic to expect a win against a team we’ve owned the past decade? If that’s the case then we might as well just be Vandy of the SEC.
Forget about competing against the big dogs of the SEC.

We were probably 30 points better and in the top 4 in the country and would've played for the NC if we had beaten them (we already tied and lost by 6 pts the other two teams who played for the NC - Colorado and Notre Dame). We were stubborn and game out super super conservative. It was 6-6 and we lined up for a long FG that we had played for at the end instead of trying to move the ball down field and it was blocked probably 30-40 yds backwards and Bama kicked a long FG to win.Why is Alabama 1990 seen as such a bad loss by so many? It's what this administration does. I don't get it either. They hire on the cheap and then it derails, paying mountains of cash to the guy they shouldn't have hired. They've wasted more money hiring ham and eggers than if they'd just bit the bullet and hire a good coach that's done it before. Butch Jones came from a weak conference and lived off Brain Kelly's recruits. Doofus was a awful hire. Pruitt looks to be no different at this point. His offenses have been offensive for 3 years running....because he never should have been a Head Coach. His talent is as a world class DC.
Thanks for the explanation. I can see why now, there’s nothing worse than falling flat against a rival- as demonstrated Saturday. You almost had to be there . . . Bama was 2-3 and had beaten absolutely nobody. We were #3 in the nation and would've gone to #1 had we won the game. We put on an offensive performance that was just heinous, and Alabama did even worse. We had a 50 yard FG to win it and it got blocked and squirted backwards like it was shot out of a cannon about 35 yards. Bama ran a play or two and kicked their own 50 yarder. At the time it was about the most unlucky end to a game I had ever seen. Little did I know that Tennessee football would top that feat repeatedly.
Memphis 1996, and it's not even close; Georgia St doesn't even compare.
because it was the 1880's since yall won by that large of margin. That's pretty bad.Don't really get why the UK loss this year is viewed so embarrassing? More for how the Vols played than the actual opponent? I feel like no matter what some UT fans will just always think UK is terrible and deserves to lose by 50. But UK was a fringe top 25 team on paper with a lot of returning players. The first couple games we looked sluggish and were trying to adjust to a new offense post Bowden/Snell years. But honestly on paper I thought we matched up decent against UT. For once Kentucky didn't "Kentucky" themselves and instead it was UT killing themselves.
This year's loss is way less embarrassing than the Ga St or whatever year UK won with a wr at qb. Just my two cents though.
