UTC's David Blackburn says no official contact with UT on job

I can only think of 1 that is worth $5 and he ain't leaving Bama.

Well, I think Meyer and Harbaugh would be worth it too, but they aren't leaving either. Chris Petersen and Chip Kelly are just about the only other ones I can think of that have proven enough at the college level to demand that kind of $ in an initial contract. Hard pressed to think of anyone beyond those guys.

Muschamp currently undefeated against CBJ, and kelly only took Oregon BCS games.

But we're too good for that.👌

It seems that UTC will be making a HC announcement soon. Sources are reporting that Tom Arth from D3 John Carroll will be named the new HC. Hopefully that'll open up Blackburn and he can be announced by UT this week.

This is a good hire. JCU has been really good recently and Arth has turned them into a top contender in the OAC, a very tough league to play in. Hell, they knocked off Mount Union this year.

I'll just leave this here....

Tennessee will not hire an athletic director until at least February with input from Chancellor Davenport according to multiple sources

Doug Mathews said on 104.5 today that while Dr Davenport had some input that she wasn't the final decision maker....that would be Haslam.

Also if Blackburn didn't get hired, the fallout would be unreal. Former players, boosters, etc would revolt.

Just throwing this out there but have been told by someone close to MSU Athletic Department that Greg Byrne has been interviewed for the AD position.

That would seem to be a pretty good candidate.

You serious Clark?

Look at his resume. He hired Dan Mullen and hired two College World Series finalists at MSU and Arizona.

I'm not opposed to Blackburn, but his resume is nowhere close to Byrne's. The notion that only a UT alum can do the job is ludicrous. If Davenport can get Byrne to Knoxville, I say give her a raise and extension immediately.
