Wow, just wow.Historical losses. You wanna keep him.As the poet once wrote, "distance makes the heart grow fonder" and as the clouds of judgment gather, I want to be the first to start blaming UT for firing CDD.
While this thread may be "too soon" for many UT fans, I have witnessed the murky memories bestowed on former UT HCs by VN posters and I just want to be able to remind everyone, years down the road, that I was the first to point out that UT screwed up by firing the great Derrick Dooley.
This may sound completely crazy now but, in time, when others begin reminiscing the good ole days of the "Emaculate Interception" when Eric Gordon intercepted then-unranked Vanderbilt to pull out a win in OT, just remember who said it first.
And who will ever be able to hold back the tears of pride after Dooley's 2012 Vols bravely gave up 721 total yards to Sun Belt Conference powerhouse Troy in the impressive 7 point win in Knoxville.
These and other memories of a legendary coach, robbed of immortality by greedy school administrators and clueless fans, will one day come to haunt the University of Tennessee and the proud tradition of the orange painted dog.
And I will be there when Freak has to merge all the "UT Shouldn't Have Fired Dooley" threads. Just to say "I told you so".
